GAME: Kansas City Royals (26-34) at San Diego Padres (24-38)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 4:10 PM EST
WHERE: Petco Park, San Diego, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The San Diego Padres halted a five-game skid in the series opener and strive to notch another victory when they host the Kansas City Royals on Saturday for the middle contest of their three-game set. San Diego was outscored 45-11 during its slide but racked up 14 hits while recording a 6-3 victory in Friday's opener.

Matt Szczur belted a pinch-hit homer in the seventh inning to snap a tie and Franchy Cordero drilled a pinch-hit, two-run double in the eighth to lead the Padres' charge. Wil Myers struck out three times during a 1-for-4 outing and has recorded just one homer and two RBIs over his last 13 games for San Diego. Kansas City is just 9-18 on the road after dropping the opener of its nine-game West Coast road trip. Salvador Perez (thumb) returned to the Royals' lineup after a one-game absence and went 2-for-4 with a two-run blast - his 94th as a catcher to break Mike Macfarlane's franchise record.

TV: 4:10 p.m. ET, FS1

PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals RH Ian Kennedy (0-6, 5.33 ERA) vs. Padres RH Miguel Diaz (1-1, 7.50)

The struggling Kennedy is undoubtedly happy to pitch again in Petco Park as he is 20-13 with a 3.68 ERA in 45 career starts at the venue, where he spent 2 1/2 seasons with the Padres before signing with the Royals after the 2015 season. He also enjoyed success against San Diego while with Arizona, going 7-2 with a 3.05 ERA in 13 turns. Kennedy has worked five innings or fewer in each of his last five starts and is 0-4 with a 10.24 ERA during that stretch.

Diaz is making his first career start after 21 relief appearances. The 22-year-old was rocked often earlier in the season but has settled down by not allowing an earned run in five of his last seven outings. "It's been a big turn," Diaz told reporters. "I went through a streak there where things weren't going very well. They were scoring multiple runs off me, but I left all the negatives and took all the positives. It's been a good learning experience."

WALK-OFFS

1. Padres C Austin Hedges is 2-for-14 with eight strikeouts over his last five games.

2. Kansas City 2B Whit Merrifield was hitless in four at-bats on Friday and is 3-for-23 since his career-best 19-game hitting streak ended.

3. San Diego optioned struggling 3B Ryan Schimpf (14 homers with .158 average) to Triple-A El Paso and recalled RHP Jose Valdez from the same club.

GAME: Oakland Athletics (26-34) at Tampa Bay Rays (32-31)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 5:40 PM EST
WHERE: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Mallex Smith will get plenty of playing time in center field for the Tampa Bay Rays after the injury to two-time Gold Glove winner Kevin Kiermaier, and showed how capable he can be in his first game back from the minors. Smith hopes to follow up a big performance as the Rays look to extend a three-game winning streak when they host the Oakland Athletics in a rare single-admission doubleheader Saturday.

Smith went 2-for-3 with a walk, a two-run homer, three runs scored and three stolen bases Friday in place of Kiermaier, who is out 6-8 weeks with a hip fracture, as Tampa Bay went deep five times en route to a 13-4 victory. Oakland lost its ninth game in the last 13 and dropped to 8-21 on the road overall after permitting double-digit runs for the eighth time this season. Infielder Ryon Healy is 1-for-10 in the last three outings after belting four homers and knocking in nine over a three-game span for the Athletics. It will be only the second scheduled doubleheader in two decades in the majors (the Athletics hosted the Los Angeles Angels in the last in 2011) and the second in Tropicana Field history.

TV: Approximately 5:40 p.m. ET (or 40 minutes after Game 1), NBCSN California (Oakland), FSN Sun (Tampa Bay)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Athletics LH Sean Manaea (5-3, 3.81 ERA) vs. Rays RH Matt Andriese (5-1, 3.45)

Manaea goes after his fourth straight quality start and his fifth consecutive victory, allowing six runs (five earned) over 25 innings in his last four outings after posting a 5.52 ERA in the first six of 2017. The 25-year-old Indiana native is just 2-3 with a 4.44 ERA in five road starts while posting a 3-0 record with a 3.21 mark at home. Manaea did not factor in the decision despite permitting five hits over eight scoreless innings against the Rays last year.

Andriese skipped a start due to a groin injury suffered in Texas and is expected back on the hill Saturday to try and extend his winning streak to five games. The 27-year-old Californian permitted six hits in eight scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Angels in his last meeting with an American League West squad on May 25. Yonder Alonso is 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts against Andriese, who is 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA in three games (one start) versus Oakland.

WALK-OFFS

1. Oakland OF Jaycob Brugman went 0-for-4 in his major-league debut Friday after being recalled and struggling OF Mark Canha (.191) was sent to Triple-A Nashville.

2. The Rays placed Kiermaier and INF Rickie Weeks Jr. (shoulder) on the disabled list and acquired INF Taylor Featherston from Philadelphia for cash considerations.

3. Athletics LHP Sean Doolittle (shoulder) is expected to be activated for the doubleheader Saturday after missing the last six weeks.

GAME: New York Mets (25-33) at Atlanta Braves (27-32)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 6:00 PM EST
WHERE: SunTrust Park, Cumberland, Georgia
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Atlanta Braves have spent the past two years rebuilding for the future, and two key parts of that plan came through in the opener of their four-game series against the visiting New York Mets, which continues Saturday with a split doubleheader. Dansby Swanson hustled for a double in the ninth inning on Friday to set the stage for Rio Ruiz, who delivered the game-winning single to left field as Atlanta posted its third victory in a row to pull within five games of .500.

Swanson, who got off to a miserable start this season, finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs to raise his average this month to .407. New York received solo homers from Curtis Granderson and Travis d’Arnaud in the series opener, giving it blasts in 23 of its 25 road games this year, but the team's bullpen gave up three runs in four innings. After hitting .327 in winning two of three in Atlanta early last month, the Mets collected just five hits in 31 at-bats on Friday. Jay Bruce registered two of them, extending his hitting streak to six games.

TV: 6 p.m. ET, WPIX (New York), FSN South (Atlanta)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets LH Steven Matz (2016: 9-8, 3.40 ERA) vs. Braves RH Matt Wisler (0-0, 7.00)

New York’s battered rotation gets a boost with the season debut of Matz, who has been sidelined with a strained flexor tendon in his left elbow. The 26-year-old made four rehab starts, allowing one run and two hits in three innings of an outing for Single-A St. Lucie while posting a 6.75 ERA over 13 1/3 frames for Triple-A Las Vegas. Matz has recorded three of his 13 career victories against the Braves, registering a 3.38 ERA in five starts.

Wisler, who made 45 starts for Atlanta over the previous two seasons, makes his first of 2017 after six appearances out of the bullpen. After going 8-8 as a rookie in 2015, the 24-year-old gave up 26 homers in 156 2/3 innings last year en route to a 7-13 record and 5.00 ERA. Wisler has faced the Mets three times this season in relief, surrendering seven runs and nine hits over four frames.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Mets have dropped 10 of their last 14 road games but have homered in 12 straight away from home.

2. Braves LF Matt Kemp recorded his seventh three-hit performance of the season Friday and ranks in the top 10 in the National League in hitting (.333).

3. Granderson is one homer away from 300 for his career and four doubles shy of reaching the same total in that category.

Preview: Tigers at Red Sox

GAME: Detroit Tigers (29-31) at Boston Red Sox (33-27)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 7:15 PM EST
WHERE: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Boston Red Sox needed a boost after dropping two of three to the rival New York Yankees this week and got it from Jackie Bradley Jr., whose go-ahead homer in the eighth inning on Friday helped earn a 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox will try to spread out the offense a little more and clinch a series win when they host the Tigers in the second of a three-game set on Saturday.

Bradley and Mitch Moreland combined for all five RBIs in Friday's win to provide enough support for the bullpen to close out the game after rookie Brian Johnson threw 105 pitches in 4 1/3 innings. The Red Sox could be short in the bullpen the next few days after key setup men Heath Hembree, Joe Kelly and Matt Barnes combined for 3 2/3 innings before often-used closer Craig Kimbrel took care of the final frame. Boston has just the starter to take the pressure off that bullpen on Saturday in Chris Sale, who entered Friday second in the American League in innings pitched and goes up against Detroit ace Justin Verlander. The Tigers dropped three of their last four games and are searching for more offense after topping out at four runs in those four contests.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, FOX

PITCHING MATCHUP: Tigers RH Justin Verlander (4-4, 4.63 ERA) vs. Red Sox LH Chris Sale (7-2, 2.89)

Verlander was forced out of his last start after two innings due to groin tightness but testing came back negative and he will start with an extra day of rest. The former MVP allowed two runs in those two frames and was coming off a start at Kansas City on May 30 in which he surrendered one run in seven innings but came away with a loss. Verlander breezed through seven innings against Boston on April 10, yielding an unearned run on three hits without factoring in the decision.

Sale has not lost since April 27 and recovered from a rough first inning at Baltimore on Sunday to strike out nine in six innings while allowing three runs in the win. The Florida native leads the majors with 119 strikeouts and is limiting opponents to a .201 batting average. Sale struck out 10 in 7 2/3 innings at Detroit on April 10 but surrendered two runs and five hits to suffer the loss.

WALK-OFFS

1. Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (wrist) came off the disabled list on Friday and went 0-for-4.

2. Detroit 1B Miguel Cabrera went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts on Friday and is 2-for-18 over the last five games.

3. Boston 3B Pablo Sandoval is 0-for-11 with six strikeouts in his last three contests.

GAME: Baltimore Orioles (31-28) at New York Yankees (35-23)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 7:15 PM EST
WHERE: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The New York Yankees are streaking again and dominated the last three games against division opponents to increase their lead in the American League East. The Yankees will aim for their fourth straight convincing win when they host the Baltimore Orioles in the second of a three-game series on Saturday.

New York took the final two of a three-game series against Boston by a combined 17-1 and followed it up with an 8-2 triumph over the Orioles on Friday behind the hot bat of Aaron Hicks. The 27-year-old Hicks began the season as a backup but bashed two homers on Friday to bring his season total to 10 and boost his batting average to .318, leaving him the likely starting center fielder even when Jacoby Ellsbury (concussion) returns. Baltimore fell to 10-18 on the road with Friday's loss and dropped four of their last six games while yielding at least five runs in each of those six contests. The Orioles will try to turn the tide behind struggling right-hander Chris Tillman, who opposes New York righty Luis Severino.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, FOX

PITCHING MATCHUP: Orioles RH Chris Tillman (1-3, 5.59 ERA) vs. Yankees RH Luis Severino (4-2, 2.90)

Tillman brought his May struggles into June on Sunday, when he was knocked around for five runs - three earned - on six hits and four walks in six innings while suffering a loss against Boston. The California native has issued 15 walks and 38 hits in 29 total innings and surrendered four home runs in his last two turns. Tillman's worst start came against New York on May 30, when he was lit up for five runs on seven hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings.

Severino allowed a total of four runs in 26 1/3 innings over his last four starts and owns 29 strikeouts and six walks in that span. The Dominican Republic native was the victim of poor run support at Toronto on Sunday and did not factor in the decision despite yielding two runs in seven innings. Severino went up against Tillman on May 30 and cruised to a win while surrendering one run and striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Yankees will push RHP Masahiro Tanaka back one day to start on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels.

2. Baltimore placed RHP Darren O'Day (shoulder) on the 10-day disabled list on Friday.

3. New York LHP Aroldis Chapman (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game on Saturday as part of his rehab.

GAME: Chicago White Sox (25-34) at Cleveland Indians (30-28)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 7:15 PM EST
WHERE: Progressive Field, Cleveland, Ohio
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Edwin Encarnacion returned from a hip injury to spark the host Cleveland Indians, who aim for their first winning streak of the month when they play the Chicago White Sox in the second of a three-game series Saturday night. Encarnacion was out of the starting lineup for both of the Indians' losses in Colorado earlier this week, but returned in a big way in Friday's 7-3 win.

He had two singles and the go-ahead two-run homer in the fifth inning as Cleveland bounced back from a 1-4 road trip. The White Sox have lost three straight and eight of their last nine overall, and they are 1-9 in their last 10 road games. Slugger Jose Abreu left Friday's game after being hit in the left leg by Cleveland lefty Andrew Miller, and he is considered day-to-day. Indians righty Josh Tomlin will be trying to atone for an earlier meeting with the White Sox in which he gave up seven runs in 1 2/3 innings.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, FOX

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH David Holmberg (0-0, 2.50 ERA) vs. Indians RH Josh Tomlin (3-7, 5.54)

Holmberg will be making his third straight start after eight relief appearances for the White Sox. He has allowed four runs on five hits and five walks with just three strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings as a starter, which follows a run out of the bullpen in which he let up one run and three hits in 10 1/3 frames. The 25-year-old Texas native, who has a 3.94 ERA and has held opponents to a .211 average in his career on the road, has never faced Cleveland.

Since getting clobbered for six runs in 2 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay on May 17, Tomlin has gone 1-2 with a 3.18 ERA over a span of three starts. The Texas Tech product has gone through four consecutive outings - spanning 25 innings - without allowing a walk, and he entered Friday's action leading the American League in strikeout-to-walk ratio (11.0). Including his abysmal matchup with the White Sox earlier this season, Tomlin is 4-4 with a 3.88 ERA in his career against the American League Central rivals.

WALK-OFFS

1. Indians 3B Jose Ramirez is 8-for-20 with four runs scored during his five-game hitting streak.

2. Chicago has an AL-leading 23 road losses.

3. Miller tossed two scoreless innings Friday and has allowed one earned run in 29 2/3 frames this year.

GAME: Milwaukee Brewers (33-29) at Arizona Diamondbacks (37-26)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Arizona Diamondbacks aim to begin a new home winning streak when they host the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday for the middle contest of their three-game series. Arizona suffered an 8-6 loss in Friday's opener, ending its nine-game run at Chase Field that featured three-game sweeps over the New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres.

Jake Lamb continued his offensive assault at home, belting a three-run homer a day after having his 11-game hitting streak in the desert come to an end. David Peralta appears to be regaining his swing as he went 3-for-5 on Friday to give him hits in three straight contests following a three-game drought. Manny Pina and Orlando Arcia each collected three hits Friday for Milwaukee, which has won three in a row on the road. Pina has hit safely in three straight contests and six of his last seven while Arcia, who ended May with an 11-game hitting streak, is riding a four-gamer and has recorded a hit in six of his last seven.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee), FSN Arizona

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Junior Guerra (1-0, 1.83 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Zack Godley (1-1, 2.39)

Guerra won his only road start of the season on May 31, scattering four hits over six scoreless innings against the New York Mets. The 32-year-old Venezuelan settled for a no-decision versus San Francisco in his last outing on Monday despite giving up just two runs - one earned - in five frames. Guerra made his lone career start against Arizona on May 26, when he allowed one run and three hits over 5 2/3 innings of a no-decision.

Godley will be making his first home start since May 15 after going 0-1 in three turns on the road. The 27-year-old native of South Carolina allowed three runs or fewer and worked at least six innings in each of those outings, recording 13 strikeouts and three walks over 19 frames. Godley is 1-0 with a 0.73 ERA in three career appearances (two starts) against Milwaukee as he settled for a no-decision after scattering five hits over six scoreless innings opposite Guerra in May.

WALK-OFFS

1. Brewers 3B Travis Shaw was placed on the family medical emergency list due to health concerns with his newborn baby and was replaced on the roster by OF Brett Phillips, who was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

2. Arizona RHP Taijuan Walker (finger) threw a bullpen session on Friday and is close to returning to the rotation.

3. Milwaukee recalled LHP Josh Hader and optioned RHP Paolo Espino to Colorado Springs.

GAME: Cincinnati Reds (29-31) at Los Angeles Dodgers (37-25)
DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Third baseman Justin Turner has picked up where he left off for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who welcomed their productive third baseman back from the disabled list on Friday. Turner figures to be in the lineup again Saturday as Los Angeles continues its three-game series against the visiting Cincinnati Reds, who have lost their last seven contests at Dodger Stadium.

After missing 19 games with a strained right hamstring, Turner returned Friday and belted a two-run home in the Dodgers’ 7-2 victory. Turner started at third base and hit in the No. 3 spot while Logan Forsythe moved back to second base and Chris Taylor started in center field and went 2-for-4 from the leadoff spot. The Reds’ leadoff hitter, speedster Billy Hamilton, leads the majors with 28 stolen bases but is hitless in his last 14 at-bats after going 0-for-4 on Friday. Shortstop Zack Cozart is batting .342 and has reached base safely in 31 straight games, the longest by a Red since Barry Larkin’s 31-game streak in 1991.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, FSN Ohio (Cincinnati), SportsNet LA (Los Angeles)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds RH Asher Wojciechowski (1-0, 4.50 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Alex Wood (6-0, 1.69)

Wojciechowski made his second start for the Reds last Monday against St. Louis and received a no-decision after allowing two runs over a career-high six innings. The 28-year-old faced the minimum nine batters through three innings and didn’t allow a hit until Matt Carpenter’s one-out single in the fourth. Wojciechowski was signed to a minor-league contract on April 21 and posted a 1.40 ERA in five starts covering 25 2/3 innings for Triple-A Louisville.

Wood is pitching for the first time since landing on the disabled list with inflammation in his sternum on May 26. The National League Pitcher of the Month for May, Wood has not allowed a run in his last four starts covering 25 1/3 innings with a 33-to-6 strikeout-to-walk ratio over that stretch. Kenta Maeda has been moved to the bullpen to make room for the North Carolina native, who is 2-0 with a 2.30 ERA in three career games (two starts) against Cincinnati.

WALK-OFFS

1. Reds LF Adam Duvall missed Friday’s game due to illness but hopes to return Saturday.

2. The Dodgers placed RHP Sergio Romo (sprained left ankle) on the 10-day disabled list and activated LHP Luis Avilan.

3. Cincinnati LHP Amir Garrett exited Friday’s game with a left hand contusion but is expected to make his next start.

DATE/TIME: Saturday, June 10 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Seattle Mariners are soaring after a string of solid performances and look to post another victory when they host the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday for the middle contest of their three-game series. Seattle has won 10 of its last 12 games after Friday's 4-2 victory, its first in five attempts against the Blue Jays this season.

The Mariners are 7-2 during an 11-game homestand that concludes Sunday and have averaged 7.9 runs in the seven victories. Robinson Cano has dipped into a mini-funk as he is 4-for-23 over his last six contests. Jose Bautista displayed signs of breaking out of his slump as he went 2-for-3 with a homer in the opener after going 2-for-28 with 10 strikeouts over Toronto's previous seven games. Josh Donaldson went 2-for-4 on Friday and is 13-for-37 with five homers over his past 10 games.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, MLB Network, Sportsnet (Toronto), ROOT (Seattle)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays RH Marcus Stroman (6-2, 3.25 ERA) vs. Mariners LH Ariel Miranda (6-2, 3.74)

Stroman has won his last five decisions and has allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his last nine outings. The 26-year-old is 4-0 with a 3.34 ERA in five road starts this season. Stroman struck out nine over six innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on May 13, when he gave up two runs and eight hits in his first career turn against the club.

Miranda has won three straight starts and five consecutive decisions while limiting hitters to a composite .219 average this season. The 28-year-old Cuban tossed his first career complete game in his last effort, when he gave up one run and four hits against Tampa Bay while matching his career high of nine strikeouts. Miranda settled for a no-decision against Toronto on May 13 after giving up one run and three hits with eight strikeouts in five innings.

WALK-OFFS

1. Mariners DH Nelson Cruz (calf) was hitless in three at-bats in the opener after a two-game absence.

2. Toronto C Russell Martin is 0-for-10 with five strikeouts in three games since returning from a neck injury.

3. Seattle OF Mitch Haniger (oblique) is expected to return either Saturday or Sunday after missing the last six-plus weeks.

MLB | Orioles vs Yankees
Play on: Yankees -200 at 5Dimes

New York (Servino) over Baltimore (Tillman)

Okay the Orioles have done well with Tillman against the Yankees, and the RHP did manage a 4-1 decision at NY allowing 4 hits and just one run in his last challenge. However, we note the FAVORITE in the series has won 10 straight in 2017. And with the Yankees coming off three straight wins, scoring 25 runs to support, we'll back NY to survive against the frustrated O's. Good Luck.

MLB | Brewers vs Diamondbacks
Play on: Brewers +139 at 5Dimes

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach Free Pick for MLB Saturday: Milwaukee Brewers Money Line (+) @ Arizona Diamondbacks @ 10:10 ET - Zack Godley and the Diamondbacks got the win over Junior Guerra and the Brewers in Milwaukee two weeks ago in a game that truly could have gone either way. That said, there is a lot of line value here in the rematch with the Brewers available as a sizable dog at Arizona. The Brewers got the 8-6 win yesterday at Chase Field and are now 3-1 in their last 4 games and have averaged 6 runs and 11.5 hits per game during this hot streak. Even though the Diamondbacks are starting to score runs again, they still aren't exactly hitting "lights out". The fact is that the Dbacks had a huge 15 hit performance in a big win Thursday but, other than that, in their other 7 games so far in June Arizona has averaged only 6.4 hits per game! Guerra has allowed only 15 hits in his 19 and 2/3 innings this season and Godley has given up 20 hits in his last 19 innings. Godley has given up 3 earned runs in 2 of those 3 starts. Not bad of course, but again not really earning he and the Diamondbacks the big money line price they have been given Saturday. The Brewers are 16-10 (+$11,300) on the road this season and the Diamondbacks are 23-38 (-$15,000) in Saturday games the past 3 seasons combined and I look for their Saturday record to drop to 3-7 this season in another over-priced spot here! Free Pick on MILWAUKEE on the money line in late night action Saturday. Best of luck, Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach

MLB | Oakland Athletics - Game #1 vs Tampa Bay Rays - Game #1
Play on: Oakland Athletics - Game #1 +111 at BMaker

This free premium play has the 26-34 Oakland A's at the 32-31 Tampa Bay Rays. Oakland has lost 2 in a row and were taken apart 13-4 last night they will want to get out and win game 1 of this double header today. Sonny Gray as been working his way back as the A's ace and I think you will see a big game out of him today. He went 7 strong in his last game and this plus money is to good to pass on. 15* Oakland
