Race 9 - Maiden Claiming - 5.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $19000 Class Rating: 83

FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD. WEIGHT, 122 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $30,000.

RECOMMENDED*CHOICES

# 1 DOWNSIDE UP 3/1

# 5 YODELERS WAY 7/2

# 2 WE GO NOW 5/2

DOWNSIDE UP is the most competitive bet in this race. Could provide positive profits based on very good recent Equibase Speed Figs with an average of 70. May see a reversal of fortune with blinkers going off for this race. Will likely be one of the front-runners of the pack going into the midpoint of the contest. YODELERS WAY - Has been running well lately and will almost certainly be on or close to the front end early on. Have to take a chance on this colt with the solid earnings per start in dirt sprint contests. WE GO NOW - The equipment change of blinkers going off today will most likely make a difference.

Parx Racing - Race #5 - Post: 2:13pm - Claiming - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $18,000 Class Rating: 77

Rating:

#2 ANDREW L (ML=4/1)

ANDREW L - Sneaky speed on this one. He'll probably be stalking horses on the back side, then crush them down the stretch. Fits well considering the fact that the last time he tried this distance he got a speed figure good enough to win today. Lake drops him down to this class. You don't need too much more knowledge to figure that this horse has a darn good chance at this level.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 MR BRIONI (ML=2/1), #3 ESTRICKATOR (ML=3/1), #4 CHICHARITO (ML=6/1),

MR BRIONI - Didn't end up on the board on Aug 9th at Parx Racing. Followed it up with another lackluster try. ESTRICKATOR - Multiple attempts for this mount at Parx Racing and still hasn't received his first victory here. CHICHARITO - This animal just hasn't looked sharp of late.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:

#2 ANDREW L is the play if we get odds of 1/1 or better

Golden Gate Fields - Race #1 - Post: 12:45pm - Maiden Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $13,000 Class Rating: 79

Rating:

#8 PHENOMENA (ML=5/2)

PHENOMENA - This mount is for real on the grass. TrackMaster turf fig in last race at Golden Gate Fields was tops in this field. The Nov 17th event at Golden Gate Fields was at a class level of (84). Dropping down in class a significant amount, so he should be in a good spot. Entered a Maiden Special race at Golden Gate Fields last time around the track and raced on the soft turf finishing fourth. Expect better in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 THISISMYSTORY (ML=7/2), #3 CHARISMIC (ML=9/2), #2 THE DANDY MAN CAN (ML=5/1),

CHARISMIC - Finished third in his most recent performance with a mediocre rating. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to prove victorious after that in this field. THE DANDY MAN CAN - This horse hasn't shown much effort in the last couple of contests.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:

#8 PHENOMENA is going to be the play if we are getting 1/1 or better

MEET STATS: 44 - 166 / $244.00 BEST BETS: 8 - 16 / $25.80

SPOT PLAYS: 3 - 16 / $15.20

Best Bet: PINK PISTOL (6th)

Spot Play: QUICK FUN N (10th)

Race 1

(10) SWEET ROYALTY was ready to roll first time out for team Baillargeon despite missing more than a month's action. He can double up here for his new connections despite the post. (9) KEEGAN HO ships in with tremendous form, the only concern being the gap in activity. (3) DEVILS ADVOCATE was on a full gallop heading to the gate last week, but she recovered and notched her first win of the year. She is likely to take a smaller share here. (7) MAJESTIC PRESENCE stayed in last week and rallied for a slice. She seems destined for more of the same here.

Race 2

(4) WASAGA BEACH gets McNair back and moves to the middle of the gate. I think it's reasonable to expect a mile similar to her win two back. (5) LADY JEN is in great form and she can take a lot of air; using. (3) KILLEAN FINALE parlayed a covered trip into a win last time. She is capable of a repeat, but driver's tactics could also get her buried late. (10) FOREVER LIZA is the class of this field, but it's hard to predict what intent will be coming off a break and drawing the worst post. I will play to beat her.

Race 3

(8) AWESOMENESS made several moves to win last week for his new connections. He should be tough to beat in here. (3) LYONS SANDS has had a great year racing mostly on smaller tracks but he should be in the hunt here. (7) SENIOR K was a solid 2nd to the choice last time now he gets McNair back. He's not out of this. (2) MGSPERKG BLUEGRASS has a penchant for taking smaller shares and that scenario seems likely here.

Race 4

(2) TWOMACSONEMACH was only inches short of chasing down the leader last week in a good tightener for this stakes series; top call. (5) THINK ON IT faced tougher last week in between stakes series and raced evenly. He should have much more to offer here. (7) BREAKTIME HANOVER ships in with some decent form but notice he is more likely to take a slice than a win. (1) CAMS LUCKY SAM was used up early last week. He could do better here if he is tripped out.

Race 5

(2) MACH PRIDE is on a real roll and he could take another here if he gets a trip similar to last week's. (10) COMPANY MAN was full value for a lifetime-best score last week. He can be dangerous here again, even from out there. (1) COOL ROCK could really trip out here behind rapid fractions; using. (8) DOMETHATAGAIN drops in class an keeps Jamieson; using.

Race 6

(4) PINK PISTOL set solid splits on her way to an easy win last week. If she repeats that mile here, her rivals will be racing for 2nd. (9) BATOUTAHILL was a closing 2nd to the choice last week. Her consistency should be respected. (5) SAFEKEEPING is another that never misses the ticket that should be considered for exotic wagers here. (3) THE LAND SHARK should be a pace factor and if he pockets up behind the choice early, he could complete a decent-paying exacta.

Race 7

(4) PAPARAZZI HANOVER couldn't chase down a determined winner last week but he was game to the wire despite racing uncovered. I'll give him a slight nod here. (7) CARRACCI HANOVER comes back quicker and drops in class again which should produce a more aggressive steer here. (1) SPINFINITI is still winless this year but he is capable of closing for a piece. (5) ARRIVED LATE also figures to pass horses in the back 1/2 and take a share.

Race 8

(3) D GS PESQUERO dropped some money off her card to the point where she can now drop to the level where she jogged on November 18th; top call. (6) GREYSTONE LADYLIKE is in top shape and her tactical speed is dangerous in this spot. (2) REGALLY READY could get a good set up for her late charge here. Toss her on Pick 4 tickets. (5) DAZZLING ROCKETTE raced well in the top class at Hoosier but she may need this one after missing a month.

Race 9

(1) PRESCOTTS HOPE couldn't do much on cover last time because that's not his best trip. Don't be shocked if Hudon sends him this time and tries to bottom out the field. (4) TRASHYTONGUETALKER was as game as they come last week, holding off a host of challengers in deep stretch; respect. (2) PRINCE CLYDE is in great form but he takes a big jump here and is likely to take a slice. (5) ASAP HANOVER will likely revert to a closing style here and take a smaller share.

Race 10

(3) QUICK FUN N made a huge third 1/4 brush then held on late last week despite having missed more than a month. He can double up for his new connections here. (1) WAZZUP WAZZUP was rusty last week having missed 4 weeks of racing. Better is expected here. (4) DREAMY FELLA is in top shape and he can be raced effectively from anywhere. He is an exacta factor. (6) IMKEEPNTHISGUY loomed boldly at a huge price last week then hung a bit late. He can close for a piece here.

Race 11

(3) SINGLE WHITE SOCK is an infrequent winner, but he fits well in this class and McNair had a test drive last week; slight nod. (1) DARCEE N raced okay first-up last week. He could do if he can find a live helmet here. (9) SURPRISE HANOVER won last time he raced in a similar class. Expect early aggression from this gelding. (4) SHADOW MARGEAUX should be much better here leaving from the inside. (2) RISE UP NOW figures to take a small share off a following trip near the front.

Meadowlands: Saturday 12/10 Analysis
By Derick Giwner

DRF

Race 1 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 3 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 55 - 160 / $268.60 (-$51.40)

BEST BETS: 6 - 13 / $15.80 (-$10.20)

Best Bet: STIMULUS PLAN (13th)

Spot Play: ALEXIE MATTOSIE (9th)

Race 1

(4) DRUNKEN TERROR returns to the Meadowlands at a reduced claiming level. There are no excuses for him in a spot like this one. (2) DAVID ON ICE has proven he can compete in this class. He seems to be doing well every other week and this is his ‘on’ week. (3) CC JERMEY gets a nice driver change to David Miller and faces a slightly easier bunch now. (5) MR BIG LOAD blew up in his first start for this barn. Do you believe in second chances?

Race 2

(1) SPICEBOMB needs to time his move right but is clearly the fastest horse in the race tonight. Driver David Miller should be able to wait all day and run these down. (3) BRICKMAN raced well off the bench with Lasix added. He can certainly improve in his second start of the year. (5) HEZABLUECHIPBOY N goes from mid-level conditioned races versus older to facing NW3 foes. You have to respect him in this spot.

Race 3

(1) BIG JER comes off a throw-out race at Freehold from post eight last time. We’ve seen this guy post a big mile in the past and this looks like a prime spot against a blank field. (4) STATESMAN N came up somewhat empty after displaying early speed in his first start down from Canada. Classy veteran is better than that effort and can rebound. (2) ONE MORE MIRACLE has some dangerous early speed and should be able to use it to get into the number. (6) VICTORYDAZE WILWIN has a win here this year and seems to own enough form to menace with the right trip.

Race 4

(7) BARIMAH A raced very well in his second start off the break in action and lured Brett Miller off (2) QUALITY CLOSER, who raced well last week and won two starts back at this level. (8) CITY HALL couldn’t be any sharper. He has enough class to handle the class jump tonight. (1) KIWI IDEAL N seems like a legitimate trip player.

Race 5

(1) JJ SHARK gets a meaningful driver change to McCarthy and certainly shows the needed ability to compete on this level; price play, hopefully. (6) CITY PIE took a shot and tired in his first start for this barn. Class drop this week should help. (5) THAT’S MY OPINION raced well the last time Ginsburg was in the bike. Erratic 5-year-old is good enough to win given the right trip. (8) GAMBLER’S TALE is relatively sharp right now and should get into the exotics.

Race 6

(3) MORE DRAGON has displayed virtually no early speed and some recent breaks, so in theory the switch to the big track should be beneficial. Ron Burke trainee faces older foes but caught the cheaper of two NW11500 races tonight. (6) SCREAMIN SEAMAN A has been racing well but only has 5 wins in his last 69 starts. (2) REBEL JET ships in with decent form and good early speed.

Race 7

(4) MUSCLE DIAMOND hasn’t been seen on the track in more than a year but did qualify back with a spectacular mile in which he was wrapped up and sprinting home. Four-year-old son of Muscle Hill has loads of talent and just maybe he can fire fresh. (3) CLASSICAL ANNIE comes off a solid second versus a good foe in B Yoyo last time. (5) ROCK OF CASHEL is as consistent as they come but hasn’t been able to get over the hump in some time.

Race 8

(8) ELRAMA N put up a solid mile in his first start for new trainer Michael Russo. This guy has some back class and can tap into that tonight. (1) SOMESIZESOMESTYLE is the most likely winner on paper but would be hard to play as the favorite. (5) WHATAORSE knows his way to the winner’s circle here and ships back in with good form. (2) SPEED AGAIN has the early speed and enough form to make some noise. (4) DR C’S Z TAM couldn’t close from last a week ago. He should be closer this week and seems like a longshot player.

Race 9

(8) ALEXIE MATTOSIE paced home very willingly last Saturday on the class drop and he seems ready to pop a big mile moving down another level. (7) FOOL ME ONCE double drops in class this week and is a must use on that angle alone. (6) INSPIRATION VIEW was used hard and paid the price last week. I wouldn’t be shocked if he won. (3) SANTANNA STAR joins the top three as moving down the classification ladder; not impossible.

Race 10

(6) BROWN COLOR was parked the mile, got blindswitched and never found room in the stretch last week. He seems like an obvious play with John Campbell taking over the lines, but that also could mean accepting a shorter than warranted price. (1) LE GAMBE comes off a nice win at Plainridge and does show a nice winning mile on the bigger track at Hoosier Park. (3) MR BLISSFULL is in fine form for a barn that is firing on all cylinders this meet. (5) JK ONAROLL came up with a big mile last time. Was that a sign of things to come or an anomaly?

Race 11

(7) BLATANTLY BEST is clearly facing easier this week and the switch to Brett Miller shouldn’t hurt. (5) JACKSRLUCKYTOO raced evenly in his first start with Lasix added. He is more than capable of rolling by this group late. (1) STARLITE KID was in tough at Philly. Burke trainee has the early speed to take these far on the engine if allowed to roll. (6) ELWELL raced well in this class a week ago and merits consideration again tonight.

Race 12

(5) SER JON comes off a slew of races were his fate was decided by a bad post draw. Tonight he finally draws a favorable mid-pack post and can do some damage. (6) NICHOLAS RYAN ships down from Canada and into a new barn. He should be competitive at this level. (4) HIGH OCTANE N is capable of getting aggressive in a spot like this. (1) RELENTLESS DREAMER looks like a play underneath.

Race 13

(5) STIMULUS PLAN won two straight at the $10K claiming level and raced well while up in class last week. This is clearly his race to lose. (9) IDEAL BID has been very competitive in the claiming ranks at Plainridge and should fit nicely here. (10) BOLD AND BRAVE drops down from a $12,500 claimer but this barn is 0 for 21 at the meet; mixed feelings. (8) MAKEOUTLINKEAPANDIT qualified ok with an amateur driver in the bike. He has wins over bigger tracks each of the last two years.

Yonkers: Saturday 12/10 Analysis
By Matt Rose

DRF

MEET STATS: 442 - 1266 / $2,441.00

BEST BETS: 57 - 104 / $193.70

Best Bet: IN THE HUDDLE (1st)

Spot Play: BETTOR REASON N (2nd)

Race 1

(2) IN THE HUDDLE was outbattled to the wire last week in a game try upon debuting at this level; 4-year-old looks too fast for these. (4) URBAN RENEWAL ship from Plainridge to face better but you have to respect his current form. (5) LYONS AGAIN beat lesser in his local debut for Allard and he may be ready for more.

Race 2

(4) BETTOR REASON N finished with plenty of pace after getting away last in his debut for the Hudson barn; it's safe to say he can power by late if kept close enough. (3) KILLER MARTINI has raced very well recently and has found a home at this level. (6) DALHOUSIE DAVE drops back into claimers, keeps Bartlett and will likely be on the move early.

Race 3

(3) FASHION DELIGHT has faltered late in his last two after showing speed but that was against better; when last at this 30K claiming level he jogged at 2/5. (4) ROCK ABSORBER wasn't awful last week and seems capable of showing more. (2) ARTIST NIGHT closed with good pace for a board spot last out and may be a decent price again.

Race 4

(3) MACHS BEACH BOY finished with pace to be second best after getting shuffled in the final turn last week; he showed me just enough to make me chase him again. (5) MACINTOSH N raced well last week and now gets Kakaley in the bike. (1) THE LUNCH PAIL has raced very well in his two starts since returning locally.

Race 5

(3) KEYSTONE HONOR is always a player at this level and draws well enough in this questionable field. (8) LAWGIVER HANOVER took money and paced evenly last week; here's another Vallee trainee getting Kakaley in the sulky. (7) HUGH HEFNER N has ability and fits with these; consider at a price.

Race 6

(3) THE REAL ONE paced his customary good effort last week but had no chance from post eight; the track-record holder is back inside in a live spot. (7) FIRST CLASS HORSE was collared at the wire by a good rival last out and he's a player again despite the outside post. (6) MACH IT SO is back in a more realistic spot and he did run second to Always B Miki two back.

Race 7

(1) COWBOY TERRIER is back in good shape after some lackluster performances and he's clearly the one to beat from this spot. (8) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN was very impressive in victory last week, his U.S. debut. Clearly he's got the talent but he may be done in by the eight hole. (3) ROYAL HEART gets post relief and could stick around for a share.

Race 8

(3) SANTA FE BEACHBOY was most impressive last week and clearly can repeat. (5) ROLAND N ROCK was storming home to make it close to the top choice and this 4-year-old has really blossomed into a nice top-level pacer; beware. (4) TE KAWAU N took the money and delivered versus lesser last week.

Race 9

(8) SAPPHIRE CITY is stuck in the eight hole for the third consecutive start but we all know he has the speed to the fire hard for position; looking over the rest of this field is there anyone else worth running to the windows for? (3) SPORTSKEEPER gets post relief and picks up Bartlett. (1) ALLBEEF N NOBULL is clearly in line for a live trip from this spot.

Race 10

(5) DOCTOR BUTCH drops down tonight and clearly he outclasses these but he has some tough ones to his inside; weak call here. (1) MASTERSON gets needed class and post relief and will be heading down the road. (2) ESCAPE THE NEWS has been very sharp in New England and he's has some good local efforts in the past.

Race 11

(1) P H SUPERCAM hasn't been at his best recently but the rail spot here could be just what the doctor ordered. (3) SOMEWHERE IN L A was uncovered and never seriously threatened in his first start for the Banca barn and clearly he's capable of better. (2) POLAK A was overtaken on the front end last out and perhaps he's trending in the wrong direction; use caution.

Saturday’s six-pack

— Titans covered twice in last 10 games as a home favorite.

— Seahawks are 13-6 vs spread in their last 19 games.

— Carolina is 4-10-1 vs spread in their last 15 games.

— Lions are 6-1-1 in last 8 games as an NFC North home favorite.

— Surprising fact: the Prime Minister of Japan went to college at USC.

— Hartford 65, Boston College 63— BC is in same league as Duke, UNC, Louisville and they’ve already lost to Nicholls St and Hartford. Yikes.
