100% correct. I practically shit myself when my wifes water broke on our first one. Each subsequent child was a LOT less nerve racking.

How is it a man can have kids and still do all of the things he wants to do and a woman shouldn't because "she has a baby".

I'm shocked that any modern person would think this way.

Perhaps you don't know, but in terms of getting babies there is a certain difference between men and women. In the families I know, it's the mother who is having the baby, breast-feeds it and develops an intense emotional bond with the baby (and, more importantly, vice versa), not the father.

I'm all for women being successful in careers, and I strongly advocate kindergardens and such in order to make it possible for mothers to work etc. But I strongly believe that at least in the first year, probably longer, a baby needs a lot more dedication from the mother than someone properly campaigning for the (Vice-)Presidency of the USA can provide, so one or the other will suffer.

All of the arguments you use are false, based on the model that the man works and the woman stays at home. - at least until the kids are old enough to go to school.

A woman can have a child and a career - it takes a lot of work and a commitment from her husband to share equally in the tasks - but it is a very common phenomenon in todays America.

Nowadays, a woman has a choice, have a career and no kids, have kids and stay at home, or have kids and have a career. The choice is up to the woman and her husband - not you or I.

Sarah Palin doesn't have to make excuses to anyone but her husband and her children for any decisions impacting her family.

It appears to me that she's done a pretty good job so far juggling family and career commitments.

I know basically nothing about her so I most certainly won't make any judgement, but this seems typical - getting the baby is important, caring for it apparently is not. Babies do need their mothers, in my opinion.

That is a great point, however one that can't be made by the Dems or they will truly piss off the Hillary supporters.

As I understand it though the Husband is a stay at home Dad. Not 100% ideal as I also think the Mom is important, but at least a parent is with the kids.
