We are not discussing black on black crime, its about cops using their gin & badge, their authoritative power to demean the citizens, whether the citizen is white, black, or purple, it doesn't matter......
Do I think that black people have it worse than white people when getting pulled over? Yes I do.......that's the way our society works, & it won't change.
But, there is also an agenda by the media to not show the public that there are more white citizens killed by cops than are black citizens.
And the media never shows how bad it really is that black on black crime is extremely high, but the media turns a blind eye to it.
The problem.with some of these cops & the stories are they use extreme force, when the situations can easily be resolved.
The cop in the video clearly sees that she is irate, & he knows 100% that he's gonna push her buttons by demanding things from her like putting out her cigarette, when he clearly didn't have to.
This cop was just looking for a fight.....some cops like him have a chip.on their shoulder, & maybe they're having a bad day, so when he tells someone to do something, he expects the person to listen or suffer the consequences, which clearly means he's using his power to step over the line & abuse people, & these cops are loving every second of it.......
You hear him say, "I will light you up"......he's talking about taking a woman because she doesn't want to put out her cigarette?? Gtfo!
Cops aren't gods, & they should be treated as such......their job is to "protect & serve"
We see a lot of abuse & you can clearly see it in the video by this cop.
I guess you missed the part where she gave him shit FIRST, so he was probably like, oh you want to be a bitch, put out your cigarette.
She was the reason for the arrest, NOT the cop. No two ways to see that.
I was very clear that him even pulling her over was ridiculous....switching lanes with no blinker give me a break. She even explains why she moved over, to get out of the officers way.
If she wasn't so fucking worked up or had an agenda (which a previous poster has already talked about), then she might even have had a warning, worst case ticket.
But she acted like a bitch and got treated like one.
He was over the line when he yelled that, but it had nothing to do with the cigarette at that point, it was about her resisting arrest.
Big difference.
Cops should be treated with respect just like you expect respect. They have a tough job. So when you give one lip, they will give it back worse.
Dealing with the Public over an extended period of time turns all but the greatest of Saints more into "an asshole" than they started out as.
The Media, as ComputerGroup pointed out above, is stoking the Fires of "revolution". CNN and the like would love nothing better than all out Civil War here as this would be best for Ratings. Which are much more important than any Humanitarian Issues including apparently the safety of themselves and their families, within this society.
As pockets said elesewhere "The Media is out of Control." I'm personally spared though for now at least cuz I can't watch the news due to being unwilling to expose myself to the utterly STUPID attention-whoring crap our Presidential candidates are saying & doing. This has made News unwatchable.
Oh she definitely had an "Agenda". A LOT moreso than would be anywhere near normal for a person. Her Videos are findable online but not worth the search cuz they're just what would be expected from a former substance abuser who suffers from mental illness and has discovered a Stage for herself to rail upon (YouTube & facebook) and has (blessedly, to her) received encouragement from other MLK wanna-be's desiring a revolution so they can get their Black Heads on the TV....so that they can experience the zeal of being a soldier in a revolution like as if they are Che Guevara lol.
Her very cause was the Driving While Black/Harassment platform. Rest assured she was gonna not let slip by...this amazing chance to increase her YouTube/facebook following and solidify her position as a Modern Day Rosa Parks by provoking as harassing a response from this officer as she could get.
Like I say...The Actual MLK would have saved that energy for the Streets, for the Marches, for his speeches. Today's MLK wanna-be's they are shortsighted. Largely though the Media is to blame for the level we are at now at with this stuff. They are even MORE shortsighted. Ther own Castles might wind up in Flames as result of their desire for ratings...the foolish stoking of the fire of Race Relations which, were they to report the whole story...have improved dramatically within the last few decades and going forward with generations that LESS "see color" will be increasingly positive.

When I said "confrontation" it was the wrong word. I should have said "interaction". I have & you can't win w/most of them. I lost respect for most cops many yrs ago.

He asked her why she was so upset because getting pulled over by the cops is NO BIG DEAL. Why would she be upset? She didn't have a reason to be upset, even by her own admission she didn't think she was doing something wrong. So what is there to get upset about?????
Big deal you got pulled over, get over it. Let the cop check you out and then go on your way. He didn't start shit, she did. And she ended it in that cell.

My experience and feelings exactly.
When I was young I fought the Law but I always lost. Of course there are cases wherein Blacks did not resist & problematic cops were in the equation but so much we see resistance from Blacks. At the least this has to be part of the discussion as to why we are seeing the incidents along with why the Media is so desirous of unrest between the races.

By no means did I mean to imply that they do. I've the most immense respect that is humanly possible to have for Veterans returned from War. I merely meant to say that there are some who returned circa 2009 through 2011 and found LE the only job available, that have lasting effects from what they went through "In Theater" and are still cops. This is an unfortunately accurate circumstance that exists which my mention of should not be taken as disrespect for Veterans because that is far from truth.
And they give it back worse than needed, like a beat down & sometimes the outcome of death.
Would I ever want to be a cop? Heck no......way too crazy, & I think I would be taken advantage if by people that saw me as soft.
I can see myself telling her to put out the cigarette, but after she gave me lip, I wouldn't have done what he did......then again, I'm not brainwashed with an agenda on how cops shouldn't accept any lip from no one.
That's why cops have such high abusive marriages/relationships & a high divorce rate.
