ElKid was lucky to last as long as he did with pocket fives making a straight.

Woody...that was early and check the history on how many chips I won. Not very many. The exception was Broadway when I took a TON from that chick.
Easy big guy. You played that Broadway perfectly and got almost all that chick's chips.

BTW Black Bart had the button position on that consecutive line-up of ghosts. I noticed he missed one call/raise which induces them to fold.

I was bottom stack needing chips when I went out to a good play by Vietbet, and committed myself to the pot.

No worries..my bad. I'm shocked that you called that hand when the river effed you. You played well but IMO you got unlucky with the ghost situation. Bart STOLE many pots because of his position but you could have tried a few more steals on the dead money.

I would put swami as the favorite here.
Swami is no poker fake. He knows and studies the game. Great poster.

Good job Sir.

Nice job, Swami. Good game. I lost my connection near the end and missed the hand that took out vietbet....hopefully I can retrieve that from the log somewhere.

I would have liked to have won, but I couldn't have made the cruise (boss coming into town on the 8th and 9th for annual review), but I'm glad that the Rx guys finished in the money. I was a little surprised at the amount of interest that drew from some non prescription folks.

It would have been nice to have more posters in the thing, but it was fun.

Thanks Bart. I'm pretty psyched about the trip. You played well and frankly you and Viet were the two guys I feared most. Once you lost a pot after you got to about 4k I felt like I would be in good shape if I busted one of the other two guys. I noticed that you were playing very patiently and waiting for cards so I knew you knew what was going on, additionally, we played at a final table once before. BTW, I've been in your position before (short stack) and you have to go firing at the big stack with any two cards. I forget who it was, maybe Cheater, but in the chat he told you to go after me and that is what you had to do.

IMO, the key to the tourney was aggression. I certainly had hands but I stole a crapload of loot. Bart stole very early but he had position on Woody and I and a larger stack so we had to choose our spots. Later on, as my stack grew, I was able to steal and no one challenged me. It was strange, normally, I'm in the middle with regard to aggression but no one except for Ed and myself realized that the tourney and the tables were way too tight.

Anyway, thanks RX and TruePoker. Special thanks to the General who did yeomen's work with regard to getting updates and keeping communication open.

...SNIP
I'm not entirely sure but I think I had an overcard and a gut shot. I recall thinking that I needed approx 10-1 or 11-1 and I would only get there via implied odds. I hit my str8 on the turn and won the pot. Either that was the hand that finsihed him or that was the hand that put a huge dent in his stack.

When you lost connection I thought you were trying to sit out and get to second by letting me slug it out with Viet. I've seen that approach work for some.

Thanks also to True Poker, the Rx, and The General. I wasn't going to log onto the site--I was concerned about keeping free of any charges of collusion--but I'm glad I did. I appreciated The General and others rooting us on.

I knew you were doing some stealing, but I didn't have the cards to even make a try at any. I did get lucky early with position, but I'll take that anytime.

I reviewed the log and I did see where you put the hurt on viet. My wife came in at the same time and I did lose track of what was happening while I was disconnected for a few moments. Yes, I was hoping you would take care of vietbet because I didn't think I could, but I wouldn't sit out to let you guys battle it out--that bush league. I made a handful of mistakes, but I was pretty satisfied with my play. I have a tendency to get a little impatient as my stack gets shorter--the quick wins early on helped me a lot.

Aggression was the key--Edkid did have that figured out. I normally play down the middle as well, but I could have benefited from opening up.

Nothing I could do, really, against you heads up except try to come up lucky a few times in a row.

Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed it.

Do you normally play at TP or were you here just for this contest? I've played here and at Party, but I may stay here for a while.

Have a good time....please post a summary of your trip when you get back.

I hear you regarding collusion. There was one accusation of that against you and I. I had QJo and you may have raised preflop. The flop came ATx. I do not remember the betting but I may have bet out hoping to take the pot given the passive play but mindful of my gutshot. I think you raised me fairly weakly. Turn came 8. Again...don't recall the betting but at that point I have a double gut = open end str8 draw. I think you bet and Ed folded and I called. River was a blank and didn't give me a K or 9 for my str8. You checked and I had to either muck or show. I mucked because my guess was that you had higher than Q high beat since you raised and I didn't want to give you guys a read on my play.

Ed and some railbird said the hand was fishy. I could understand that because it could have looked like I was chip dumping but given the above there was a reason I mucked.

I signed up with True Poker for this tourney. I'm a Party/Empire guy. I was a Beta tester at PokerStars and have an account there but haven't played there for a long time. I've also played at a number of other sites including Paradise and WSEX.

I love the graphics at True Poker. Party's graphics are probably the worst of all the sites. True needs to keep at developing their site and getting players. The main reason I play at Party/Empire is that I KNOW whenever I want a game whether it be 15/30, 10/20, 3/6, 250k tourney, or 25 NL there is a game for me. I play Limit and NL live but only recently (last year or so) have I started playing online NL. At the 25 NL level I like True Poker. It seems that their players are into that game since there are always a few full tables going.

What name do you use at Party?

Bart-

I remembered the hand that took Viet out and wanted to hear your thoughts and anyone else's who would like to chime in.

I had 44 and Viet went all-in preflop. He was playing his short-stack like he should so I knew it was likely that he had any two random overcards and not a pocket pair. I called him and he had Qx (maybe QJ or QT).

I actually thought of folding:

1) I figured I was in a coin-flip situation with a slight lead. Normally I like to get money in the pot under better conditions.

2) I really didn't want to double him up with BS hands because at that point my lead was intimidating and if I doubled him up he would have been at about 5k vs 7-10k for me.

3) With my big stack I would normally prefer to force you guys to make decisions for all your chips rather than calling all-in bets.

Would welcome some thoughts on this. Is this an automatic call knowing that you are ahead and have the chip lead and have an opportunity to knock someone out?

Thanks Dante. Would have loved to see you play during the tourney.

All the RXers at my table played well; Woody, Bart, Viet. It was just my day.
