the division started with advent of right wing talk radio.

And Limbaugh was at the forefront of it

You are correct, of course, but on this far right forum, you will be widely criticized.

Limbaugh demonized the left every day for three hours on hundreds of radio stations for over 30 years. It has had a devastating effect on the discourse in this country. And he did it all for massive personal profit. Of course he is a root cause of the division we face today.

The country is a better place without him.

Umm....yeah he wasn't alone in that. Your side controls pretty much every institution in America so if the country is "divided" then you probably share an outsized portion of the blame. Have you seen the good stuff they're teaching on college campuses or in the public education system these days?

However, I don't mind critiquing a public figure the day he died at all, who gives a fuck? He talked some shit on the radio, he wasn't a deity. Actually surprised the majority opinion in this thread that taking him to task for what you perceive to be as misdeeds would be off limits. I have the same opinion about pretty much anyone whether they're dead or alive.

I was watching the morning he said that Donovan McNabb wasn’t a good quarterback that the left wing media propped him up because he was black omg. What was he doing on NFL pregame anyway lol he lasted one day. And I guess he never saw him play at Syracuse as he was a one man wrecking crew.

Well, Mcnabb was pretty good looking back on his career. But if you look at the way he played when that comment was made it wasn't the worst take
Should have left race out of the situation though
But we do know that kind of stuff happens
Woke bias media crap to virtue signal

People still call Brady overrated
So...yeah...calling Mcnabb overrated at that point in his career is nothing
Of course you can't say that but yelling white privilege or something never gets you in trouble
Lets compare Limabughs comment with Van Jones saying white people have a virus in their brains that can make them racist at any time
Million times worse
And nothing happened to him

I remember when the McNabb comment happened and I thought it was bizarre because at that particular time, the issue of pushing for a black star QB just wasn't there. McNair won MVP that year, Vick was #1 pick in the draft and considered a rising star, Culpepper was looking pretty good. It just seemed out of place and trying too hard. Also, McNabb during his prime was still 1 of the most criticized players in the league. He wasn't really getting a pass for the Eagles losing in the postseason even though they didn't have a lot of receiving talent until they got T.O.

I disagree with the pushing black QB situation
They have been doing it for quite some time

It wasn't there with McNabb in 2003, McNabb was always 1 of the most polarizing/critiqued players in the league.

He was grasping at straws, likely because he had no business being on a NFL pregame show

I thought Rush was great on the NFL pregame show.. To bad if some were uncomfortable with him. Just telling it like it is..

Where Limbaugh was wrong that he mentioned Mcnabb's skin color.

Most rookies get way too much praise way before they actually earn it.

It doesnt have anything with skin color.
