from what I can tell gr, is saying that the bet was cancelled well before the start time...however ibmf is claiming he did not get an email till after game time...emails can often be stuck in servers etc & the time stamped on an email may not truly indicate when the game was cancelled...

did ibmf log into the account before the game started to make sure the bet was still pending? if he had he may have seen that the bet was cancelled...

on the other hand...is it enough for a sportsbook to cancel a bet & then simply send an email? perhaps a phone call would have been more in order?

SS,the phone call thing wouldn't work. Most players would not want to recieve calls from their book for obvious reasons.

I believe that the bet was cancelled before the game started. HEre is my justification. From what I can tell, the better received confirmation of the cancelled bet early in the second period. If they were going to try and rip him off then they would have waited until WELLLL into the third period to make sure that they didnt actually win his bet! But hten again, the better probably would have wanted to cancel the bet due to the "illegal" bet being made.

Remember guys that just because you get an email at 9PM easter time, doesnt mean that the bet was canceled at 9pm eastern. It had to be canceled much earlier than when you got the email

ibfm- Your only mistake here was posting up with a shit book. Their cheap, fell off the back of a truck, software accepted your bet and they should have honored it for the entire amount. If you were trying to circumvent their limits, there are other ways to do it and you simply wanted to make a bet on a hockey game. You just picked a dogshit outfit to do it with.

gr1706- You guys should try getting into the gambling business. I can bet a nickel on a hockey game with my neighbor and she's 65. If you paid for some decent software instead of buying it off the guy selling bananas at the local market, you wouldn't have had this problem.

No matter what the future shows, this young lady handled this situation with class and quick strike determination this afternoon like she was really concerned. I gave her personal kudos. Thanks again gr1706. I was very impressed with her ability to deal with this matter in a positive way. I am a shill now, but they were listed PG in the URL thread LOL.

What is it with the software at these books allowing a bet over their limits? That has to be the easiest thing to program. The question arises. Would he have gotten his money back if he LOST the bet?

NO!
