If the bet was cancelled well before the game & an email was sent, then, IMO, ibfm doesnt have a leg to stand on...(although I can certainly understand that it still may be troubling for ibfm as he may have turned off his PC, thinking that he had a bet & not found out till after the game).
Offering the 500$ (assuming the bet had been cancelled well before game time) is extremely fair IMO. I also think it is a commendable offer & applaud you for addressing it in this open forum...

I have seen this story plenty of times in the past and there are usually a couple of "small details" that always seem to be left out by the player with regard to the story. I don't have any concrete evidence that ibfm was/is trying to "do something", I just have this feeling. I also had this feeling about a guy named Orenthal.

ibfm, this is what you said in your initial thread....now the manager is claiming this is not the case...one should be very careful before making statements that are not 100% accurate...posters may have read your thread & may never play at that book now due to a statement that was in fact false. This is not really fair to the business...

it seems like the time of the cancelled bet is in dispute...In My Humble Opinion this is a critical factor in this dispute...
since you are here gr...why not plug your book....what kind of specials are you offering new accounts...rollovers...etc etc...

Seems clear that he wants his $500 that you owe him. I'm not sure why you max the risk at $500, most shops have the win at $500 on the favorite(assuming that 500 is their limit). The best should have been 600/500 IMO.
