There's a really huge topic on the Asian Cup with alot of collected info/articles/stats here:

http://www.thedailypunt.com/forum/international-football/102828-asian-cup-2007-a.html

Vietnam are one of the hosts. But, they're also a very poor team. Vietnamese football has been rocked by some huge match fixing scandals, which has led to several members of the national team being thrown in jail and therefore unable to play. The manager has even complained not to expect a thing from the team. Their preparations have also been hampered as the coach had to undergo a kidney transplant. In contrast, UAE are a solid team, with an experienced manager, blend of youth/experience, and a bit of pedigree in recent times as they won the Gulf Cup this year. They've had some strong preparation as the manager has rotated the squad around for some friendlies. They're also used to hot and humid conditions, so the environment shouldn't be too intimidating.

Considering all this, -0.5 on a strong UAE side against a poor team further depleted by a loss of key players... that has to be value! I'm slightly sceptical as to why the line is low. I'd assume it would be UAE -0.75 but I'm hoping to see the line change as it gets closer to the match.

Good luck bro.

Rhino, I was wondering what the difference is between those two lines, -.5 and -.75 i just always treated them as identical lines

UAE -0.5 means that if they win by one goal you get your stake back and the full profit, which you know...

But UAE -0.75 means if they win by one you get your stake back and half the profit, so they'd need to win by two clear goals for you to get the full return.

-0.25 means if there's a draw you lose half your stake... +0.25 means a draw gets you half the profit + your stake...

thanks, so basically like Pinnacle's -.5 and -1. don't think there are any shops that offer these lines to Americans nowadays

Yep, it's exactly like those lines. -0.75/-0.25 is just the European equivalent...

liking that Uruguay pick, they are bound to get it together soon and today i see it 2-0

so far the bread winner has been Argentina for me but today im all over Brazil, i feel they show up in champion fashion. and beat chille by 3-4 goals. Robinho is showing the superstar he really is, and today will be his comming out party, i feel he takes a nice leap as the tournaments top scorer, and also gets his team involved too.

Good luck today Rhinno

also just curious, i remember tailing a bunch of Liverpool games off you this year, just wondering how u feel about the Fernando Torres signing. and anybody else that you are excited about during the transfer season.

Thanks. Neither of the two teams has been impressive but I don't think Uruguay should be the dogs in this one. Hopefully, the officials don't give alot of bad decisions in favour of Venezuela.

I'm really unsure about Brazil. I reckon they've been lucky with decisions, especially some lucky penalties. Robinho seems to be on fire, but the rest of the team just hasn't got that free-flowing football or the creative spark like Argentina. Maybe they'll start to play better as they progress. Good luck with them.

What do you think about Torres? I reckon he's a classy player, but his finishing isn't too great. He's got all the qualities to be a really class player, and fit into the Premiership. I reckon with a bit of time, and if Liverpool invest in some good wingers to set him up with chances, he'll prove to be a really good signing. I'm just not sure if he'll score loads of goals. They need some goalscoring midfielders to help with that.

If Man Utd get Tevez, then I reckon they're the best team in the world. A team with Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Scholes, Giggs, and even Saha when fit... That is just fucking amazing. So much pace and creativity. It's going to be total football as they can all alternate positions. They will seriously fuck up alot of sides with that attack. Other than that, there hasn't been anything really huge in the Premiership. I'm interested to see whether Chelsea get Malouda and sell Robben. I think that'd be a huge mistake, as Robben is brilliant just injury-prone. So far though, Man Utd have really spent big and their team has got alot more depth and quality now. I'll be interested to see how Arsenal cope without Henry...

Any interesting transfers for you? Still a few months till the transfer window closes, so there could be plenty more big signings.

thats what im talking about, i stopped watching after halftime, 6-1!
good job on the Uruguay pick...that Pablo Garcia goal was something else

following the UAE pick tommorow morning, dont know a thing of about the team but i have been to Dubai so thats good enough for me...as far as Copa i usually dont play the totals but i think Mexico is bound for a win.

Personally as far as the premiership i am yet to decide, i guess i been watching mainly the top 4 the last couple years (Man u, Chelsea, Pool, and Arsenal), i liked what West Ham was putting together at the end of the season, and a couple weakends they won me some good money. So i see why you like Tevez, and if he goes to Man U, that will be a problem for the rest of the league.

im hoping Real sign Robben, being that i am a Madrid fan. as far as transfers go i think whether Baptista stays at madrid or goes somewere else will be big, i see him developing well, to me he is a great player at all positions, and his passing abilities can be put up there with some of the best brazilians. and he complements robinho very well

good luck tommorow as always, i tell you i gamble on alot of differnt sports, but lately soccer has been good to me, i mean futbol

Man, I was so close to playing the UNDER or CHILE +1.25...
:missingte Thankfully I didn't. Great call Mob, Brazil were on fire!!

Garcia goal was great. Pretty good match between Uruguay/Venezuela. The quality in the Copa has been brilliant.

West Ham should have been renamed Tevez FC last season. He saved them from relegation. Now, they've got alot of money so they'll be challenging in the top 10. Alot of clubs have now got some rich sugar daddies willing to spend millions to rebuild. Man City just got Sven as manager, and their new owner is the former Thai Prime Minister. Apparently, Sven has 50 million to spend to rebuild the squad. So, it'll be interesting to see what players he can bring in.

Robben would be a great signing for Madrid. As for Baptista, he was class when he was Sevilla. Such a strong, physical goalscorer, and good touch/technique. As soon as he went to Madrid, with all the managerial chaos, they started playing him in a hundred different positions and he suffered. He was pretty terrible with Arsenal, seemed to have lost his touch. But, I think if he can settle and get more confidence he'll be back to his best.

Good luck with your picks bro... hopefully they'll all come in as easy as Brazil!
