Everything is pointing towards the over 2.5 in the match tomorrow.
Manchester United are missing their entire first choice defence. They'll have Wes Brown pairing with Gabriel Heinze in centreback. I think Heinze is a brilliant player in his original position of left back. He plays at centreback for Argentina but he has a great partner and leader in Ayala. Generally, he's a very rash player. He likes to play on the edge which means he commits himself alot to a tackle, often leading to one or two openings for the attackers. Wes Brown is a decent centreback but not a first choice player. He struggles against skillful hold-up strikers. He also loses concentration pretty easily. A midfielder, Darren Fletcher, will be at rightback. He's got lots of energy but his defending will be suspect. You've also got John O'Shea at left back who is quite slow, and has a poor touch. To put it simply, their defence is very very shaky.
So, that should theoretically allow Milan a very good chance of getting an away goal. They should be determined enough to search for one particularly against such a makeshift defence. Problem is, they'll only have Gilardino up front. He's been crap this season. Luckily they have creativity from Kaka, and Pirlo aswell as the danger of some long shots from Seedorf. The United keeper Van Der Sar is low on confidence and has been panicking when it comes to dealing with long shots. So I'd expect a few of those.
Because of all this, United are going to have to attack. They've got so many wonderful players, and great movement. AC Milan like to take control of the game, and keep possession. I think if Man Utd don't allow themselves to get nervous, they'll be able to launch some very swift counter attacks and hurt the slow Milan defence. Particularly at home, and with the great crowd going for it. I have a lean on Man Utd winning aswell.
You can get good odds on Over 2.5.
However, it's always good to be a bit cautious and adopt some contrarian thinking. This over could seem too good to be true. Milan's ability to control a game could slow it down. Man Utd might be worried about their defence and adopt a cautious formation to protect them. Ferguson often makes the mistake of playing a European defensive system which goes against Man Utd's attacking strengths.
I think there will be 2 goals scored at least. There's good value on the over 2.5, but I'm being a bit cautious, so that's why I took the OVER 2 rather than the 2.5. Good luck.
