Differences in partisan identification across educational categories have remained fairly stable in recent years, with one exception: Highly-educated people increasingly identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party.
About a third (34%) of those with a college degree or more education identify as Democrats, compared with 24% who identify as Republicans; 39% are independents. In 1992, Republicans held a seven-point lead among those with at least a college degree (34% to 27%), while 37% were independents.
Democrats now hold a 12-point lead (52% to 40%) in leaned party identification among those with at least a college degree, up from just a four-point difference as recently as 2010 (48% to 44%). There has been less change since 2010 in the partisan leanings of those with less education.
Currently, those who have attended college but have not received a degree lean Democratic 47% to 42%; Democrats hold a 10-point lead in leaned party identification among those with no more than a high school education (47% to 37%).
The Democrats’ wide lead in partisan identification among highly-educated adults is largely the result of a growing advantage among those with any post-graduate experience. A majority (56%) of those who have attended graduate school identify with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, compared with 36% who align with or lean toward the GOP.
Among those who have received a college degree but have no post-graduate experience, 48% identify as Democrats or lean Democratic, while 43% affiliate with the GOP or lean Republican.

The problem with this conclusion is that they start with the premise that college educated people are highly educated. Shaq, a Democrat, is considered a highly educated LSU grad and he can't even spell the word 'period'.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. While I don't think teachers are overall evil and selfish, a large portion of them are deviants in it for 3 months vacation a year.

That's right - the customer is ALWAYS right! Which means, while little Johnny is at school, either you find an effective strategy for him to learn - or you starve. This how the tough mean real world works.

As for private school teachers...well, you get what you pay for.

Some kids are a lost cause and even the best teacher in the world can't get a thing out of them.

Look at America's poorest communities, what party is in power? Usually for 50+ years

Look at America's most affluent communities, what party is usually in power.

Now while Democrats can be found to hold the executive officer in a minority of affluent communities, Republicans almost never, if ever, win an election in poor communities.

Thats completely different. A car and a human being? Really Joe? It's no different than some athletes that fail under every coach. Some kids are so destructive they ruin it for other kids.....and 99/100 it's because of what they see at home. In life there will always be people who just fail......no matter how dedicated and capable the teacher is.

Like everything the government does, public education is a train wreck. And, like everything in government, everyone points fingers and plays the blame game, and nothing gets done.

While you bitch endlessly about unruly children and unreasonable parents making public teachers look bad, you're still not understanding the concept of... PERFORMANCE.

Education is a product. You can't improve a product if you can't measure its performance. And there is no better way of measuring performance than the feedback of a satisfied customer reaching into their pocket and handing you money for your product or service - or an unsatisfied customer taking their business to your competitor. It's basic economics and human nature. If you're a business owner, you know that your customer is essentially your BOSS. Excuses don't pay the bills. So you have to work hard - REALLY HARD - to earn their business. You have to keep innovating...always working toward a bigger and better and cheaper mousetrap than the competition.

Funny enough, the Bush administration recognized what a train wreck government education was, so they came up with this brilliant concept of measuring teacher performance by creating standardized tests. The theory was, it would allow the system to weed out the bad teachers.

Well, like all "well intentioned" government programs, it failed miserably. What happened? Your holier-than-thou entitled teachers cheated giving their students the answers so they wouldn't look bad and get fired. Another classic government 'solution' to a government-induced 'problem.'

Ditto for healthcare. Until we get back to a system where people are actually paying for their own healthcare out of pocket, costs won't be contained and the quality of care will keep declining.

Memo to Progressives: just because a politician declares something a "human right" doesn't mean it magically becomes immune from the laws of economics. Exhibit A: Obamacare, the latest left wing social experiment disaster, because ignorant arrogant Progressives never learn from their foolish idealism.

Can you acknowledge income level is correlated to IQ? Republicans dominate income levels over 50k. How do you reconcile that with your theory that higher IQs lean democrat? You aren't going to deny that is what you are claiming with your post about education levels are you? Can you see why there are flaws in drawing that conclusion and variables you haven't accounted for?
