That Chicago game was a tough tough loss. This was a 3 point game until the final 24 seconds. Butler made an amazing defensive play in the last 20 seconds. The Bulls had to foul at some point down 3 with only 20 seconds left but they waited and Butler was running to contest when Korver attempts a pass over him and Butler manages to time his jump perfectly and snatch it out of the air-this wasn't a lob either it was a real pass-unfortunately Korver reacted quickly and was able to force a jump ball which the Bulls couldn't control...Korver had another good game, which has become a regularity. The Bulls were the "grind it out Bulls"-they kept pace with Atlanta through out the game. What I saw in Rose the past few games was not there tonight, way too passive, short on every jumper, shot 0/7 from three-and none of them were close, 6 turnovers, and 6/19 from the floor overall, Heirnich gave them nothing- 0-7 from the field did not score a single point, the bench was 4/20 overall going 1-12 from three...Gasol was 6/15 scoring 13 points- this one you can at least credit to the defense, they were not letting Pau get into the paint. Butler, Gibson, and Dunleavy were the guys that didn't play poorly for Chicago, Butler had another solid night, as we've come to expect from him. He scored 22 with 9 rebounds and an assist, he may not have scored much more than his average of 20.8ppg but all his shots had impeccable timing and we was great overall-definitely one of my favorite guys to watch play. Gibson and Dunleavy scored what you would expect from them-26 combined points...This was an interesting game to watch because Atlanta was playing near their ceiling, easily one of the best games I've seen them play all year, and the Bulls were definitely under-performing a great deal but the Bulls still had a chance up until the final 20 seconds....and it wasn't luck either they can just grind games out.
I'd take the Bulls again if the two teams played tomorrow in Atlanta. I stand by all my picks except Philly, I admit I've fallen in love with Philly. That was a game I didn't delve into, I made up my mind to take them before the lines even came out last night. The rest of the games are games I can live with losing I'd make those same picks again.
