There is no doubt stafford is the better qb it’s not close .
That still does not mean the rams won the trade .

Wrong
Stafford has done nothing to warrant such an assertion

If he is better it is by a small margin

This guy is a perpetual loser

You are wrong. As evidence of what else LA had to give up to make this swap. The only thing Goff has on Stafford from a QB standpoint, is he is younger.

LA wasn't the only team that tried to land Stafford. The Lions got other offers from SF, WAS, and maybe even IND. Did LA give up too much? That's debatable and will be settled in time.

Goff is a system QB. He thrived the 1st year under McVay. Then.. The Super Bowl against the Patriots happened. He was figured out. Hasn't been the same since. He's progressively got worse and worse.

Everyone on earth agrees the Lions are a shit team and organization. I'm not sure even Tom Brady could consistently win there. It's been that bad. Stafford is considered a good QB despite their ineptitude. That says a lot. His career will now be defined by how he performs with a good team the next 3-4 years.

So they said about Brady

No such thing as a "system" QB

I am not saying Goff is Brady or anything special but Stafford is blah

Wrong. Are you aware the code the Patriots staff cracked before the Super Bowl? It resulted in Goff being clueless and his offense scoring 3 points. He hasn’t been the same QB since.

The gap between Stafford and Goff is huge man .

You realize the odds are not zero that Stafford will retire the NFLs all time leading passer ?

It would be an upset at this point if he don’t at least pass P Manning who was the all time leader just 2 years ago

Just because a guy puts up numbers does not mean you throw him on a team and bam....success

The endorsement here by people is simply numbers and it will work out if the team is a bit better

Winning is often about being clutch and understanding how to win
It is not always throw your way to victory
Being clutch is something some guys have and some do not
The ability to let your team win for you sometimes and sometimes to takeover
Football IQ
Sometimes you just gotta let your team run and play defense. Make the occasional play
Maybe that defense is too good to just win yourself and so on

Some guy put up numbers throw him on a team and you got a title
Nope

Of course. Nobody is arguing that the Rams are gonna win a title now. Or that Stafford will be the next Tom Brady now that he is with a much better organization. Stafford has tons of talent. That's not debatable. The question was always.. How good could he be with a good team? Now we get to find out.

My argument is that Stafford is a much better QB than Goff. And I would imagine I'm with 32 other NFL GM's that have the same opinion. Including the Lions GM. Who needed TWO 1st round draft picks from LA to make it even.

Yeah, sounds good in theory. Except for a couple of very important factors here. Stafford very rarely ever had a good running game or defense surrounding him.

I mean if you are on a good team

Also, remember, if you are claiming he is on a bad team and that is why his record isn't very good you also have to consider the junk yards he threw for. Falling behind so you are forced to throw and the other team plays prevent or doesn't care so he racks up numbers
