It's funny everyone was talking that the Chargers would be the forgotten team in LA once fans could attend. The Chargers have the brightest future and will probably get to a Super Bowl before the Rams return. While the Rams spend years recovering after giving up assets the Chargers build around Herbert. Will see if the narrative changes in LA. I find it hard to believe that LA sports fans who are a fickle bunch won't switch their allegiance to a team that will probably contend for the next 10 years. Same thing goes in New York. If the Jets become a contender and the Giants just spin their wheels it will be hard to not get behind a team that wins. Not saying the Jets can actually do this but they have the draft capital to become a very good team.
Maybe an exaggeration but he can make every throw Mahomes makes and it's never shown. If Mahomes throws a no look pass, we hear about it for months. Stafford's been making the same no look throws for years.

I think Stafford is underrated; always thought he had quite a gun for an arm. The Detroit franchise was never able to consistently assemble a good package around him.
He will have every opportunity in LA with top notch everything. Whether you think the Rams or Lions got the best of this deal the real winner is Stafford. He upgraded big time here

There is no doubt that guys like Wilson, Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady...top 10 guys are better than Stafford

Seems like they were wrong on Goff and just wanted someone to take on his contract.
First round picks dont mean much to them as they wont have a first round pick from 2017-2023
The last time they had a first round pick was in 2016 when they actually traded for Goff to make him the number 1 overall pick

I would take the younger guy who is more likely to improve and can grow with the team he is on

It is one thing if you are getting Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre like teams have done
This is not that
Maybe Goff improves, maybe he doesn't. But I do know that the Rams offense has been crippled by QB play. Playbook has been closed and predictable because of Goff's inability to make throws down the field.
Stafford has proven to be a better QB to this point. Stafford's surroundings have been objectively AWFUL, and he's still been able to be a pretty damn good QB by any reasonable metric
