I made the winning shot in 1995 class A state title game with 1 second left. Always thought there should've been a "king of the hill" game betweein the two state champs.

That would have put me gaurding Kevin Garnett from Faraggut High School and would've made an interesting story to tell.

Edit: On second thought maybe faraggut did get bounced before the finals..can't remember. Whatever.

Farragut lost to the AA State Champs Thornton. I remember that was a huge upset because of Garnett and Ronnie Fields. Looking at Thornton's roster, they had the better talent:

Ahh I recall that now. Ronnie Feilds was as big a prospect as Garnett. They were saying NBA right out of high school with Garnett. What happened to him? I vaguely remembering hearing about it. Thinking it was an injury and then trouble with the law or something.

Oh and Randle El on that Thornton roster... I had no idea. 0 for 1 in that one. basketball must not have been his game.

Ronnie Fields played at Farragut Academy in Chicago from 1992-1996 and was a teammate of Kevin Garnett during the 1995 season. Fields had a (reported) 50-inch vertical leap. He was a 3-time Parade All American selection (1994-96) and a consensus First Team All American (Parade, USA Today, McDonald's) his senior year. He was also the first sophomore to ever play in the "Best of the Best" game at the Nike All American camp in 1993, a game that featured Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, and Naismith Prep Player of the Year winners Ron Mercer and Jerod Ward.
In high school he averaged 32 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 4 blocks a game.[citation needed] Fields was injured in a car accident on February 26, 1996, in which he broke his neck. He had to wear a protective halo while his neck healed. It is believed that Ronnie had a total of 372 dunks in his high school career.[citation needed] He left high school as the third all-time leading scorer in Chicago Public League history with 2,619 points. His high school teammates include Garnett (95), Arizona Wildcat forward Michael Wright (98) and Willie Farley (95).
Ronnie Fields signed a letter of intent at DePaul University in his hometown but was later ruled academically ineligible. He declared himself eligible for the 1996 CBA Draft and was selected in the 7th round (73rd overall) by the LaCrosse Bobcats. He also declared for the 1997 NBA Draft but later withdrew his name. Fields was eligible for the 1998 NBA Draft but went undrafted.

Tai Streets was a heck of a BB player, and Melvin Eli has bounced around the NBA.

At her invitation, shared room service with a Playboy Playmate from the 90's. Unfortunately, that was all we shared.

When I was a lift-op in Donner Pass I once bumped Levar Burton's chair.
