I was talking to a buddy yesterday and we were both surprised the Steelers are underdogs. But, Vick trying to pass against that secondary is probably not going to be pretty.
I can see Pitt hanging in here but I just don't have much confidence in their offense today. Also AZ leads the NFL in scoring and if Pitt falls behind 14-0 they are in big trouble. The Steelers have had trouble covering tight ends and they allowed Antonio Gates to catch nine passes for 92 yards and he scored two touchdowns. Palmer has a lot of options. The guy that covers them and writes for the paper says AZ by 3, I think Pitt either wins a tight one or gets murdered.

One other tidbit: Arizona played at Detroit last week. Instead of traveling back west and then back to Pittsburgh, they spent the week in West Virginia. Only 11[SUP]th[/SUP] time Pitt home underdog since 2000

Other stuff for the games:

MIAMI at TENNESSEE
Last 16 home games, Titans have covered only TWICE; Tennessee: covered only 5 of last 25 games; Ken Whisenhunt: 4-28 SU streak as head coach

SAN DIEGO at GREEN BAY
Packers covered 13 of 17 laying a TD or more GB has outscored opponents 237-57 in the first half of Green Bay's last 9 home games.

CHICAGO at DETROIT
Last 9 times Chicago AT Detroit - Bears have 1 ATS win
Chicago in last 14 games: outscored 254-101 in First Half
Bears have won only 13 of last 37 games ATS
Bears 4-14 ATS in division
Bears have 1 cover in last 12 games BEFORE playing Minnesota

Sunday's trends that seem to matter (and then the ball is kicked)

DEN = 0-5 ATS Away vs Non-Div if won last 3 games SU

CIN = 7-69 SU Away vs +500 team game 3 or later of Season

MIN = 11-28 -3 or more off SU Loss since 1999

JAX = 4-23 SU after allowing 30+ points

NY = 4-24 if Away at NE next game / Home team off London SU Win = 1-7 ATS

ARZ coach Arians still steamed at PIT ownership over firing as O/C a few years ago

Shit.
Looks like I forgot to post my early NFL plays here. They are on the NFL Forum. I would like to carry the same record as I post three places, if that's OK with you Scott. Otherwise I will just stop posting in this thread. Not worth keeping different records. Too confusing. Already too many things to do on NFL sunday - the reason I screwed up here today. Need your ruling, Scott.

Add Sunday:

Seattle -7 +105 (vs Car)
In the past 5 years there have been three undefeated teams with their byes coming in the first 5 weeks of the season. All three were on the road after their byes and all three lost both SU and ATS. All teams with winning pre bye records, on the road after their byes, if the bye came within the first 5 weeks, are 1-5 ATS. (L5Y)

Getting winners muscles and gonna take a shot on the Pats.

Since 2001 there have been Zero winning "spotlight" game road favorites of -7 or higher in Week 6. Heck the highest winning spotlight game road fav in all those years in Week 6 was -4 in 2007.

There have, however been 3 Week 6 "spotlight game" winning home dogs of +11; +8'; and +6 since 2001.

But remember when it comes to any trends, the Patriots are trend breakers.

Add:

New England -8' +100 (@ Indy)

Might be my homerism. Be careful. I'm playing with their money.

Lucked out good today. Middled DET and DEN for a Mountain. Put half that mountain on INDY when some schmoe offered me 10. I asked him who was betting NE and he said, "Every Square I buried earlier on Arizona!" Then I got lucky again. Right after the Pats parted the Red Sea for INDY to cover I realized I never rechecked the MLB line. I loved the Cubs. But I never lay above -150. I made a mental note to recheck the line to see if the price came down. I didn't check until just now. It closed at -137. And somehow Arrieta got touched. Win-Win Again :)

MNF

Seems there is a lot of Giants love out there tonight and I'm not sure why. Banged up at wideout, banged up in the secondary, don't cover tight ends or running backs( out of the backfield) well....that's an Eagles strength. Both teams should move the ball though and score. Gonna try both side and total tonight. GL all

Forgot to post GB 1Q yesterday. Not counting it here, only in the wallet. 3-4 Saturday, 3-2 Sunday = 39-53. Keeping me alive this Season are a few Middles and a -105 guy. So not so bad. Need to get the capping up to par. Got a dozen customers I haven't charged since the NCAA Tourney.
MLB still -$1023. No Plays tonight.

Took NYG +7 -120 yesterday. My buddy Bobber always jacks the Eagles up and used 6.5 yesterday. Gave him a Nickle. Didn't bite on his 52, should have. Closed most of bet (460/400) on Eagles -3 -115 with my 105 guy. I'll still fall asleep before the game ends!
