Nebbish went into full panic, committing a foul down 1 with .34 left on an inbounds pass when Mary only had 08 left on the shotclock. Now you're down 3. Neb kills a shit ton of time before taking a bad shot. Now Mary is about to shoot to go up 70-65 with 6.8 seconds left. Figure you're safe because with that little time not enough time to miss and foul. But refs go to monitor (love these delays!) and make it 8.2. That's 1.4 more seconds of "Bend Over Vit" time. Mello makes both, 70-65. Fortunately for you the 3ball Neb shot missed so short and instead of catching it and getting hacked an OM player swatted it out toward halfcourt and the clock ran out.

Furthermore, who goes out to dinner with whom when coaches visit different cities? Who has a beef with the team who traded him away? A coach going through a personal crisis, like returning from a funeral - If his players like him they will max out the effort for that one game. So many edges to look for and grab hold of.
The only variables that keep anyone from winning are effort and time.
I've also noticed that if Kobe is visiting a Western conference city TWICE he will expend more effort in the second trip. In the first game he might even sit out. He wants to leave a lasting impression to the fans in every city.
