Yeah, I've spent a lot of time in both. Pros and cons to each. Charleston is expensive. If they're gonna pay me 25% more to live in SA, which has a 16% lower cost of living and no state taxes...that is a massive difference.

The one trip I took to Charleston (with the wife), was a long weekend getaway. We weren't in the rental car for 30 mins, and I'm driving 70 down the interstate in the rain at night, and all of a
sudden there's a huge buck in the middle of the road, in my lane standing there staring at me. I swerve over a lane to avoid him, and he jumps right in front of the car.
Car was totaled, and it took 2-3 hours to get another rental car. We still had a great weekend though.
