Had some more good poker sessions before I left...

-$950 GN
+$350 GN
+$800 GN
+$100 GN
+$600 GN
+$150 GN
+$150 LB
--------
+$1200

Played the last session at L'auberge next door, the games were dead in the morning at the Nugget.

Saw some more crazy shit. I saw a guy call a $500 raise (put him all in) into about an $800 pot, after the turn on nothing but a flush draw (he lost).

These games are easily beatable by playing ABC poker. I can only think of one hand where I bluffed, to try and steal the pot on a late position bet
(didn't work). A couple times I continuation bet with nothing... But other than that, I was just patient, and used smart bet sizing, and
calculated implied pot odds on every move I made - which it seems like at least the half the table had no clue about.

I played today myself.. Literally was involved in 6 hands.. 2 of them I bet 3x the blind and was reraised... I folded both times... to AA...

First Flop I see I have Ah10h
Flop 4h6h 10... someone opens, I rereaise, he reraised me..
He has KK vs my top pair with flush draw, turn and river misses, we both checked it down from there, minimized damage I guess...

2nd Flop I see... 10J, flop 9d,Jd,Qd, .. Turn Jx..
.I lost to straight flush flopped. minimized damage yet again..

3rd Flop Ace to me exposed. Which our rules its the burn.... I get the burn card.. Next card is an ace (so I would have had AA..) Instead I get a J to make AJs... Flop 445, I tilt bet, everyone folds, first winner of the night....

And 4th flop I se. I have 66... Flop AA7.. checks around, 6 turns. X river...
He has A7... Welp. That wasn't very fun.

Review: 3 hours, 6 hands I "played"
2 hands (99 and A10) I opened pre, was reraised by AA, I folded both times...
Top pair+Flush Draw vs KK .. Loser...
Trip J, Straight Draw vs Flopped Straight Flush... Loser...
Ace exposed, takes away my AA, I tilt bet AJ Winner
666AA loser to AAA77 Loser...

Literally the only 6 hands I was involved

6 hands in 3 hours, that sucks... Sounds like you did great though, at losing the minimum with some hands that you could have
lost a lot more. Curious where you were playing? What limits?

I'm back in VA... Huge underground poker here as closest casino is 4+ hours away

It was a deep stack tourny $130 buy in. So I guess in retrospect I should be glad it wasn't cash.
This tourny goes on to wee hours in the morning. I slept in all day and was looking forward to playing cards at least most the night..

Instead 0 entertainment value.
Yeah its not nearly bad as yours given it was cash. I'd still be there if its cash.. that or completely broke.

Last night I went on a heater unlike any I've ever been on. I sat down at 7 PM to a $1/$2 NL game with $300. I played for 6 hours, but 90% of these
hands happened w/in the first 2-2.5 hours:

AA - twice
KK - 4 times
AK - 3 times
QQ - once, and was up against KK, we both hit a set on the flop, but I hit a 1-outter on the river for quads
99- once, and flopped a set, and won when no one called my flop bet
AJ - a couple times, but only remember winning a fairly big pot against jack ten who overplayed his jack

I was never sucked out on all night long, all those big hands held up. I lost a coin flip calling an all-in with AQ against 77, and also folded AQ pre-flop to a big re-raise.

Cashed out with $2012 after 6 hours.

Just found out yesterday that there is a legal poker room in the Austin area.

http://www.kvue.com/story/news/local/2015/03/20/legal-poker-room-opens-in-south-austin/25125795/

http://www.texascardhouse.com/

I went and played some last night. It's small (5 tables) but clean and secure. I'll be going back on a regular basis.

The real nice thing is, no rake, and no tipping dealer. Though, you have to pay membership fee to join the club.

I played 5 hours of $1/$2 NL. +$263

We will have to go next time I'm in New Braunfels.

Imagine the exchanges between these morons. 2 stalking losers

I log in this afternoon to see the site troll has been trolling all day so far, on a Sunday... No surprise,
as that's all he does every day of the week.

For sure, let me know when you're back... You're probably closer to the game than I am (in New Braunfels), as the poker room is in
way south Austin.

Cool. I don't have any trips planned but usually I'm there at least twice a year.

You said it was a membership type situation. If you are a member could you bring me as a guest?

I wish it worked that way, but it doesn't. Currently you can pay $30 for a one day membership, or $200/month. But that ends up
being way cheaper than pots being raked, and tipping the dealer. I never thought to calculate how much I
gave up playing live poker, and having pots raked, and tipping every won pot - but it must be way more than $30
over a 6-8 hour session...

I've been paying the $30 fee every time I go, as you'd need to go > 6 times a month to make the monthly
fee worthwhile, and I've been going roughly once a week.

Oh OK, well if you can pay a one day membership then that's cool. I'd much rather pay $30 than a rake.
