It is kind of sad someone actually can't understand how adjustments for population work.

The unemployment rate is for people looking for work that can't find it. People dropping out of the workforce, for whatever reason, has nothing to do with the people who are actually looking for jobs. You wouldn't understand. And I'm glad you failed to admit you lied when you said unemployment was higher and employment was lower since Obama was sworn in to office. Does not look good for your character if you can't admit when you are wrong.

Um, the people dropping out of the work force have given up looking for work. So yeah, they have something to do with people "looking for jobs"

Idiot.

Which of course is explained by the chart on on page 6. The labor force has shrunk.

Yet another topic on which you are embarrassingly clueless.

You've never hired anyone.

You've never fired anyone.

This is comical.

No, it has nothing to do with "giving up looking for work". It's another one of those equations that you can't grasp. Many are retiring, going to school, etc. That's why people not looking for work are not included in the unemployment rate, lol.

It's hilarious how because some conservative site brought up the labor force participation rate that it's all you guys talk about, lol.

And it's also hilarious how you can't admit you lied or made a mistake when you made claims that weren't true. Typical conservative/libertarian.

Well what's funny, is hiring or firing people have nothing to do with what I said, lol. It's hilarious how desperate and dumb you are. Just admit you don't know what you are talking about and just start asking me questions. I promise you I will make you smarter.

.

Um, actually it does have to do with giving up looking for work.

The BLS even says this.

"Discouraged workers are a subset of persons marginally attached to the labor force. The marginally attached are those persons not in the labor force who want and are available for work, and who have looked for a job sometime in the prior 12 months, but were not counted as unemployed because they had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey."

Idiot.

So as we see, the idiot who has never hired or fired anyone, run a business, heck, even had a real job, doesn't know about employment.

Everyone reading is shocked.

Discouraged workers (Current Population Survey)
Persons not in the labor force who want and are available for a job and who have looked for work sometime in the past 12 months (or since the end of their last job if they held one within the past 12 months), but who are not currently looking because they believe there are no jobs available or there are none for which they would qualify.

I see you are still dodging your lies that you said earlier in the thread. Kind of explains the type of character I'm dealing with. Not a good sign for you if you can't even admit when you are wrong.

All this says is it doesn't include people who have looked for work past 4 weeks preceding the survey. Has absolutely nothing to do with your labor force participation rate. Even your own graph shows a trend that it has been decreasing for the past half century. Based on economic data, one would say that it has nothing to do with people that can't find work and drop out of the labor pool, lol.

But you are too dumb to understand this. This is why smart people don't think like you.

Notice you've tried yet again to backtrack.

The discouraged workers have dropped out of the labor force.

They want to work and have looked for jobs.

You disputed discouraged workers had 'anything to do with' the labor force.

You are an idiot.

there are fewer people working now than were working from Aug 2006 through Oct 2008

did our population decline?

if the LPR remains constant, UE > 10%, that's just a cold hard fact

This is a very dumb comment, lol. I used school as an example, not that everyone is going to school. But you are too dumb to figure that out. People who are not looking for work are doing something and living somehow. Most likely many of the baby boomers who are retiring as you can see the statistics show a consistent drop in the labor force participation rate. Regardless, making the claim that people are not looking for work because they can't find a job is simply impossible to understand by that graph. Only the truly retarded don't understand that. It's no surprise that you are one of those people.

Um, yes they do.

They are actually officially categorized by the BLS as "discouraged workers" and have looked for jobs within the past 12 months.

Not backtracking at all, and I can see you are still dodging your lies that you said earlier. Just the type of person I am dealing with. A man who has no integrity.

Discouraging workers are a subset that cannot be explained by simply looking at the graph you are posting. You still don't understand basic math. This is another Spending as % of GDP discussion, lol! One of the dumbest people I have met on this site. And that's an accomplishment. One would think that you have to actively try to be a retard to be the dumbest on this site.
