I have no allegiance to either the SEC or the PAC10 just a football lover. USC is obviously not the best team this year. Sanchez is not a good qb. Their unbelievable defense is not so unbelievable. Yes you are supposed to look at the body of work over the whole season but these guys have one loss and they are out of the National championship race and rightfully so they should be. If OU Florida and UGA or even Mizzou end up with 1 loss they should all get in over USC at the end of the year unless that loss ends up being to another comparable team that USC lost too. For instance if UGA loses to FLA end FLA ends up undefeated and all other have 1 loss I think UGA should get in over USC. USC would definitely beat AUBURN, ALABAMA and LSU 8 times out of 10. I think UGA, OU, and FLA would all win about 5 out of 10 vs. them.
USC is a helluva team. When they come ready to play, they are as good as anybody. But they got beat by a bad football team. There is no way to justify that. They still had a halftime to suck it up, come out, and overcome their lack of effort in the first half. Ore St stuck it up their asses, and their season is over. USC is good, but it should be a day of silent mourning for USC fans. All they can say is nothing at all.
They did suck it up & outside of a bad INT, shut Oregon State out in the 2nd H. If that late 1st H TD is intercepted, they win that game. They should not have lost last night, I will agree with that. I just laugh at the one game wonders who actually think certain teams would stand a chance against USC. No team has dominated them since Pete took over. They lose because they get in their own way & even with doing that, they still almost pulled out the few games they did lose.
Many idiots on this forum are clueless about football & it shows in their responses. They wouldn't know football talent inside & out if they were handed the answers. I'm just giving you some flack about Illini as I don't hate them. They have great recruits being brought in, I just don't know if they can get over the hump with Zook being the coach though. He is a great recruiter though. What are the masses & your feelings on him, direction of the program, etc...?
The problem I have with all these SEC morons is that they like to say everyone sucks bad but themselves. They drop a load of their shit on USC and tell everyone how bad they are and they don't even remember McFadden and the hogs doing exactly the same thing to LSU last year. MSU did the same to OSU but when it happens to USC they suddenly become idiots with no recollection of these things and squares because they pick sides the way they talk. They are truely useless.
This is the absolute truth. The envy people have for USC clearly shows the minute they lose. If any other team lost in the same situation, they would get a slap on the wrist compared to what the Trojans get. The hatred comes from knowing they truly are as talented as people make them out to be.
Just look at sports, the best teams usually get upset by conference foes as you play them every year, sometimes multiple depending on the sport. It would be a bigger upset if USC lost to an OOC team as huge favorites than losing to a familiar foe.
Everyone is so quick to say Oregon State is horrible, yada yada but when they lost to LSU because of their stupid kicker, no one trashed LSU & saying all these ridiculous things.
Great recruiter, maybe the best. Selling Illinois to kids outside of the state takes a lot of sales skills. Pretty good motivator. Football is a game of emotion, and Illinois usually comes out of the gates strong. Bad x's and o's guy and low football strategy IQ. Those are my thoughts on Zook and I think most people with a clue feel exactly the same. I know my friends do. But Illini fans suck. Great basketball fans, yes. Clueless football fans that are embarassing to be associated with. Complete tools.
Overall, I love Zook. He will be here for a long time, and they might put a statue up in his honor when he retires. He is appreciated here, and that's something he's never had before. We'll put up with his mistakes, as long as he keeps us competitive. We've never had a sustained run in football. Good for a year, then suck for 5. Repeat. I think we're going to be competitive for a long time with this guy.
