Another thread filled with clueless drones who think the only way to win football games is by torching the scoreboard.

Penn State is as good as, if not better than anyone in the Big 12.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Had Penn State beaten Ohio State 31-24, everyone's tune would be different. But because they "only" scored 13 against one of the best three defenses in the country, people think they aren't qualified to play for the national title.

They've dominated every team they've played this year other than Ohio State. What has Bama done that is more impressive than Penn State? They play in a better conference, yes. But they've played about the easiest schedule you could have in the SEC and if they meet Florida in the title game, they will be an 8-12 point underdog.

Don't get me wrong, I think Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC are probably all a little better than Penn State. I think Texas Tech-Penn State are pretty even. But people bashing Penn State and saying they are not a top ten team are idiotic.

Show me who they have beaten? They beat up on a weak schedule & before Ohio State, their best win was against an undermanned Oregon State team. Alabama alone has more quality wins over top competition. Just going on rankings alone, Alabama trumps Penn State in that category with ease.

No offense but you are crazy if you think a possible #1 team will be a double digit underdog against a lower ranked team. You could say that you feel the line should be that way, I could understand. But to say that the oddsmakers would put that line up is beyond ridiculous.

Hippi,

All the conferences beat up on each other. Who's to say who's is better and who's is weaker. What it comes down to is a loss is a loss.

We see it in college hoops, NFL, NBA, baseball, and many other competitive sports.

If we had a play-off the arguement then would be who should be in the play-offs. Kind of like the NCAA when we all talk about who got snubbed this season and how did Blank make it in.

This is the system and were stuck with it.

What "Quality" Wins Might That Be?

1 game over a Ga. team who's since shown they have shit for a "D"! Otherwise their sched. is no stronger than PSU. Neither one is a "great" tm.! I don't think there is one out there this yr. IMO the 2 tms w/the best personnel are Fl & Tx. It will be too bad that one or the other will be left out. TT will not run the "gauntlet", nor will the Tide go unbeaten. SEC Fl, B12 Tx or OU. BCS game PSU vs Fl! Gators by 17. Paterno has had unbeaten tms passed by before, it won't happen this time. Don't know now what agreement the Rose has, but a great gm out there would be USC vs OU or Horns. Please put the Bucks in a non BCS gm.

Technically speaking playing ranked teams counts for a lot in voters eyes & Alabama has more wins against such teams than Penn State. Technically speaking they have beaten two top 10 teams, something Penn State can't even come close to saying.

And to go along with my personal satisfaction, when PSU wins the NC , I will cash in on a futures bet to win the NC this year - laid $100 at +9000 odds at beginning of season.... hooyeah:toast:

I don't think anyone is giving Bama much credit for a win over Clemson now.

Bama beat Clemson and a very over rated UGA. I think beating Oregon St and Ohio St is just as good if not better. Your argument has no backing in regards to PSU's schedule.

Florida is very good and could be as good as anyone but they do not deserve to be in it over and undefeated Penn State team if PSU runs the table. A team that lost at home to 5-4 Mississippi team does not deserve to have that overlooked.

good comment hog. youre not so bad after all my man

The funny thing is that win catapulted them into a #16 ranking from nowhere and then over Penn St. after UGA. If I was a Penn St. fan that would piss me off.

its so funny after ole miss. everybody was talking how 'bad' florida was. now all of a sudden theyre best team in america lol... and alabama has no chance in beating them???? guys still SEC. they have vandy and south carolina left. most of all people are forgetting they have some team in tallahasee waiting for them in last regular season game. i love the doubters though. it keeps giving alabama and us fans motivation. and it gives something for saban to coach week in and week out. actually bama doesnt play as well when theyre expected to win and everyone is on them. so keep it up guys. say were gonna lose to lsu. lose to florida. lose to NC game. it feeds us...also i like penn state. but like previous poster said. they still have iowa and michigan state if im not mistaken

Texas Tech will NOT run the table... PSU may get jumped by USC or FL...and ALA will lose to FL.

Been saying this since Ga Tech won the title: PLAYOFFS!

why does everyone think florida automatically wins out the rest of their games lol? im pretty sure when alabama goes undefeated and beats florida. people will make excuses why alabama won and have them has underdogs no matter who they play in NC

EGD, aren't you the same guy that crowned Boise St the NC a few years ago?

Figures - here comes the bashing from all the Longhorn Fans... And what would those reasons be? A 9-0 record so far... Oh yeah, that's right, The Big10 is a weak conference argument.... you need to do better than that..... :nohead:

You just can't schedule Temple, Syracuse, COASTAL CAROLINA, and then play in a very weak conference and expect respect. PSU hasn't shown me that they belong in the top 10 muchless top two.

I & Jake Thompson were the only ones who said they would go undefeated & win a BCS game. I pretty much staked my reputation on that because I knew they would get the job done. In my eyes they will always be the uncrowned champions from that year.

You fault Penn State for not playing anyone but then reward Boise State for not playing anyone?

Not a fair comparison - tons of good teams would line up to play a home and home with Penn State, but no big time program wants t play a home and home with Boise State, it is just too risky.
