Banning a guy with multiple user names doesn't really accomplish much (and if you ban this one he can create a new one later today). If I got banned tomorrow from this site my life would change by 0%.

That all said I am surprised therx isn't doing anything in this situation all things considered

Blue if you ban someone, it will show up as a match if they sign up again with even a remotely similar IP address.

However, some will use a 3rd party VPN to hide their ip address and give a 'fake' one.

When they do that, obviously it's an immediate red flag that they are hiding something, and they are newly registered under Post review.

There are some posters here that fellow members believe are ghosts.

But I've run checks on those in question, and:

1. They gave no matching IP addresses or accounts
2. They are NOT using a VPN to hide their real IP

Therefore, there is nothing at all suspicious other than some having a hunch it could be a ghost based on what they consider a similar posting style.

And that's just not something you can just ban someone based on.

As for personal wagers between posters, this is not the first time time we've been thru this and we always have to reiterate that the site(s) do not get involved in bets between posters.

The big guy just reconfirmed this with me.

I'm hoping R2 will reply and follow thru on payment.

BAS has also said Therx is not responsible for poster to poster personal bets. He posted a warning/disclaimer about this numerous times. Betting with some unknown person on the Internet is just stupid, just a bad idea. Leaves you open to these types of things. Look at the wood/standfordsam deal anyone who was paying attention to that now has both their real names.

I did read the msgs and currently in discussions about that.

Just trying to smooth things over first without jumping the gun.

I'd rather try to get Wilbur paid than not and an instant ban of R2 certainly isn't going to help that happen.

Hache I said it before but I'm pretty sure road has said he has multiple user names (in the past or current, I can find those maybe if I dig). MY Ip address changes at home no fixed IP address so to keep up with everyone that has multiple accounts is impossible.

I have no dog in the fight and even if it's not a hard and fast rule I would think you guys can use some common sense and judgement, you do on many other things. Good luck either way

That being said, I think Wilbur should be able to decide his fate. If he wants to let him stick around for a day or two in the hopes he can get paid (not happening) then that should be the case. If he wants him immediately banned for threatening his family and to put his personal info all over the internet, then he should be gone the second Wilbur states that.
