I think KC is going to score their points. It's hard for me to believe that New England will shut them down at home. I just cant see that happening.

The key is Brady against the KC defense. Will KC allow White to catch a million check down passes for 10 yards a pop this week like LA did?

Brady didn't throw the ball down field much at all last game. He didn't have to. Carved them up with RAC yards.

Could really see this game going either way as far as point total goes. Could easily see the Patriots holding KC to under 20 points.

If New England is able to run the ball like they have lately, I can't see how they lose this game. KC can't really do anything defensively to counter that, and when you combine that with postseason history of these two coaches/QB experience/etc...it's hard to imagine the Chiefs overcoming all that.

No denying KC has been bad on defense all year. But they do play much better defense at home. Giving up 17.4 ppg at home in 9 games vs 30.7 ppg on the road in 8 games. That's quite a staggering difference.

Their defense plays well at home because they've jumped on teams offensively and they have a good pass rush (also the Rams/NE games were on the road so they've had a significantly easier home schedule...Not many tough matchups)

If they can jump on NE then Jones/Ford/Houston are a legit pass rush, but if they can't they have 1 of the worst run defenses in the league and NE is built for the cold weather with their power running game that has developed over the last few months.

Hill got loose on NE last time but besides him they've been excellent against what you would consider elite WR's all year. Think KC secondary options gonna need to step up if they're gonna pile on the points.

Good analysis, also a good chance the footballs will contain regulation air.

Didn't realize it was going to be so cold.

Advantage New England

It's going to be about 20 degrees warmer than some original forecasts. On Monday they were talking about temps in the single digits at kickoff. Now its supposed to be mid to high 20's at kickoff.

Are you going to capitulate or bet the NFC in the superbowl?

Haha. From your question, it sounds like you are banking on a NE win on Sunday. I know you don't really believe that will happen.. puff_>>

I'll be in Vegas on Sunday. So I will look to hit the opener at Caesar's for the Super Bowl as soon as it hits the board. Of course the participants involved and the line will factor in with where my money goes.

Have futures on NE to win AFC that I'm not hedging at all. If I didn't have those futures, I'd probably bet NE.

So reasonably confident for a team given a 40% chance to win. I think NE matches up well.

-Aforementioned running game/run D stuff.

-Mahomes splits vs man/zone covg this year favor zone greatly, NE mostly plays man. Belichick 2nd time seeing him, NE D playing a lot better now than back then. Chiefs OL hasn't been great either and Mahomes splits when pressured aren't great.

-Chiefs have mostly lost their games vs good teams after the first 2 weeks. Besides a OT win @ home vs Ravens. Lost to NE/Rams/Sea/LAC. In all 4 games their defense got killed which I don't think is noisy since their D does infact suck unless they have a nice lead.

I’ll give you and Sam this.. It’s good to have some intelligent football conversation without you guys getting emotional and offended by a fun prediction thread.

I wonder about some of these other Mr Grumpy Gills. Their Patriots are some serious business.

+1

Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone would get offended and emotional about a sports conversation. It's fun to shoot the shit and engage in sports debate. Just bros being dudes.

I think the game could go either way. Talent at this level and for this season is very close. Have rarely bet against Brady and the Pats... This may be the first or no more than the second time in their long dynasty. I just feel there is some magic in the KC quarterback this year that hasn't been there in a long time....add home field advantage and my lean is to the Chiefs...Would really not be shocked if New England wins.

The last time that Tom Brady was a 3-point underdog was November 16, 2014 when they took on the Colts in Indianapolis.

The Patriots won that game 42-20

Watch the patriots completely suck in 2020 and draft Trevor Lawrence #1 overall. And be good again for another 15 years. He is as big of a can’t miss prospect in the history of any draft.
