Maybe you should ask Willie what I own. He's my accountant. I can't disclose something I don't own. Keep repeating your mantra over and over. Sorry you let a thread camp out in your head for so long (must be tough).

Not trying to fight Captains battles here , but why would he need to ask Willie anything concerning yourself ? Or need to know who your accountant is ? Not sure that's relevant. Seems like the thread is getting away from you.

Nah, not at all (but I can see that reaction from you based on your comment last time). I'm not the one accusing people I don't know of things. Thanks for your reply. I treated it with the respect it deserved. I'm not going to waste any more time with you so feel to respond accordingly (your banter on this topic actually bores me).

I don't think housing will crash as, before the virus, there was a big influx of California buyers which, I think will increase when we get back to normal mainly because of increased CA state taxes and the fact that you can't deduct those state taxes from your fed income tax any longer. Not sure where they will go, but the same dynamic exists for NY/NJ. Tom...agree that Gambling Shark is pretty much making stuff up...probably a disgruntled union rep, but the only true element of his note was that four Stations casinos are not going to open until the second wave.

Why would I care what you own? Even odder is why you would suggest that I ask willie what you own? You're following me around here like some oddball. We both know where we stand regarding this topic. We're going to see how the real estate chips fall in Las Vegas.

Much too logical for these guys. And yeah, this thread was started with bullshit.

Bodyforlife why don't you disclose that you own a couple airbnb type rentals, so people know how biased your opinions are about this topic?

Vegas is going to collapse, get over it.

You seem to care a lot. Can't help you if you have dementia in addition to some sort of crazy envy that you would let a thread stay camped out in your head rent free for over a decade. No dude, I'm not following you around. I've keeping with current threads (unlike you).

Do you think the demand will disappear? Do you think everyone will live the rest of their lives housebound?

If there's demand, industry will rise to feed that hunger

In 2004, a Tsunami destroyed vacation communities throughout the Indian Ocean region. 228,000 people died. Today, those vacation destinations are open for business, ask VD about Thailand

Why would Vegas collapse? You don't think when it opens back up people will still visit in droves?

I know I'm going to the casinos as soon as they open, after spending some time with my grandchildren.

My son and daughter-in-law want us to practice strict social distancing for two weeks before we get to hang with them. So I'm doing that out of respect for them, I won't lie to them. I had to ask them for specifics, just to make sure it was doable to begin with.

I'm hoping perceptions lighten up by then, and they don't continue to impose harsh restrictions on us. Otherwise I'm going to miss them, with the only possible exception being they need my wife to start babysitting once or twice a week again because they're no longer working from home. Then I probably continue to sacrifice out of respect for their needs and wishes.

My daughter is a medical professional working in a local hospital. Her views on these lock-downs are completely different than my son's.

Damn straight! I am too. I can't wait for them to open back up. For those that don't feel safe, stay at home. Nobody cares.

Wonder how tight the slot machines will be.....:think2:

That's a good point Timmy. In LV, no doubt every slot machine will be moved from a previous position as that is when they can change the payout percentage. I think locals will get some great deals to get you back to the casino, but no doubt the machines will be tighter. Regardless, people will line up to get in including us.

Willie , I doubt anyone thinks Vegas won't come back at some point.. But you will see massive carnage before that happens.. Politicians have dealt us a huge blow with the shutdown..We haven't seen this kind of an obstacle , and very likely not the worst of it yet either

You seem to follow my posts with the same type of know it all attitude. I'm only posting to what you've directly posted to me. You even brought into the mix last night suggesting to ask your accountant what you own, insinuating you're one of the few posters here with a few bucks in your pocket. Grow up.

The rest of our lives housebound? Come on you already know most of us here are out daily doing things locally. I'm in no hurry to be at an airport or flying and I've been going to Vegas for 25 years.

A lot of you guys here are saying that millions of businesses are going to close because of these shutdowns. That itself is going to hurt all casinos, not just Vegas. Are you guys even looking at the bread lines in cities such as Vegas? One of the Station casinos is being used as a soup kitchen. The lines are miles long. Stations are geared toward locals. Do you really think people are going to move from one day waiting in bread lines to gambling real money at casinos?

They first have to reopen, but yes I do think the demand is going to greatly diminish. Vegas is an over leveraged market. Without bailouts we'd already be seeing casinos permanently closing. They've already lost billions and eventually it'll be enough to bankrupt certain properties. People don't have to visit Vegas and less are going to when they have less money in their pockets, and this virus remains a lingering threat. You're a numbers man, so you damn well know that if even 10-20% is shaved from most businesses' top line they aren't going to survive. Corona is going to remove greater than 10-20% from casinos' top line. Vegas is going to be economically destroyed by corona. Are you really going to sit at a card table, wearing a mask, with some plastic shield between you and the other 1 or 2 players? Let's get real here. You aren't and many other casino gamblers aren't either.

How many Chinese and other Asian high rollers won't be heading to Vegas this year and beyond?

Are you going to rush into an airport soon for leisure travel? We really don't have any idea what new measures will be added, but it's going to make a lot of people reconsider air travel.

Great point. The industry is in trouble. 1/2 to 2/3 of the machines will be removed from service because of social distancing and slot players probably will have to wear rubber gloves. However, these guys think Vegas casinos will return to the glory days as soon as they reopen.

Basic question should be , how long can casinos wait this out ? Not sure what kind of position each of these casinos are in going into this crisis..Pretty tough when you're mainly relying on tourists to visit.

I go often to Vegas for various reasons..And would like to pick up where I left off..I was litterly on my way when the shutdown happened..MM is etched in stone every year for me. If Vegas isn't back to what I'm familiar with , I'm probably out.. How long that will be is anyone's guess
