What is truly "pathetic" is that this is SUPPOSED to be a handicapping board yet we are over-populated with FANS..
...in this instance its Baltimore fans whom feel as though Ed Reed was slighted in some way by not being voted as the leagues defensive MVP.
Please don't take this the wrong way my friend, but apparently you are amongst the Baltimore "homer" FANS that feel this way as well...
What is truly "pathetic" is that instead of looking at the statistics and making a HANDICAPPING decision based on SUBSTANCE "homers" tend to toss all of the analytical proof aside go with their heart instead, this kind of "handicapping" will quickly empty out your pocket...
...below I am re-posting the data for this season that I posted earlier on Ed Reed for your viewing pleasure, please read everything over and I am quite sure that if you were to make a completely UNBIASED accessement you would agree that there is no way in hell that Ed Reed should of even been considered as a possible MVP...

As far as Ed Reed goes, he is one hell of a player and there is no doubt about that, however, a simple review of his statistics shows that HE WAS NOT WORTHY of contention for the MVP award...
Reed had a total of 41 tackles during the 2008 regular season with 9 interceptions with 1 sack and along the way scored two TD's...
However, there were 4 other DB's in the NFL that had 7 interceptions (Nick Collins from GB, Michael Griffin from Tenn, Troy Polamalu from Pitts, and Charles Woodson from GB)...
...Reed only had 2 more picks that this grouping which is not exactly separating himself from the competition.
...
EACH and EVERY ONE of the above mentioned players (Collins, Griffin, Polamalu, and Woodson) had
wayyyyyyy more tackles on the season than Reed, as a matter of fact Nick Collins had 72 tackles which is
31 more than Reed, Griffin had 75 tackles which is
34 more than Reed, and Polamalu had 73 tackles which is
32 more tackles than Reed had...
Obviously from the stats listed it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see that Reed only had 2 more picks that his four closest competitors, however, Reed had wayyyyy less tackles on the season...
...meaning that Reed spends his time ball hawking instead of being a complete DB and providing run support for his team as the other four players listed do for their teams...Reed is no more a league MVP than you or I when compared to others in the same capacity.
