there are some issues that you are avoiding here.

usa did not enter the war to save the world, or europe.

the majority of euro countries were occupied from 1939 to 1941.

us entered the war a lot later, after being attacked by japs.

 

another thing,

if usa did not enter the war in europe, the europe (with the exception of england) would be speaking russian.

the russians were on their way to beat germans in the eastern front when the americans came to europe.

 

how can you compare Hitler with Saddam ?

Here are some guidelines for your better understanding of world politics.

When Saddam consulted USA gouvernement about his conflict with Koweit ( about the low oil prices), the american ambassador to Iraq responded that USA is not interested in Arab-Arab conflits, and asked Saddam to do end that conflict in any way he wants, but to do it quick.

He occupied Koweit, and the US did not want to get involved, until he started threatening S.Arabia.

This time around he did not occupy any other country, and he was not planning to do that in the future.

As for Hitler, he occupied the whole europe, northern africa, and a big part of Russia.

His jap allies occupied a big part of china, lots of pacific countries, and attacked USA.

The War that USA, England, Russia, France and China lead at that time was a true liberation war.

This war against Iraq is nothing close to that.

1. Yes, I'm an American.

2. No Americans are not the reason for the world's problems. The US doesn't pick fights they simply resolve them.

3. No, I would not roll a grenade into a US Command Tent. For that matter, I wouldn't roll a grenade into anyone's tent unless my life depended on it.

america helped supply england with weapons and materials during ww2......if europe had listened to winston churchill`s warning of "the gathering storm",it may have save millions of lives and avoided the extent of the carnage of ww2.....but,they did the easiest thing...

i don`t think THIS war is smart........ .although,i see why the administration thought it was necessary......i just don`t believe,you can go halfway around the world and impose regime change on a country the size of california.....especially the way we are waging it....cheyney thought we could go in with just special ops forces....that`s scary...we probably don`t have enough soldiers there now......maybe 100.000 fighting soldiers with the rest being support personnel....fighting a very antiseptic, surgical war....it`s not gonna work.....to go in there and remove saddam,you would have to go in with unprecedented,sustained force and that would be ugly.....the more i see of this war,the less i think it`s gonna be successful......the state run media(al jezeera)is still going strong and spewing propaganda daily.....telephones and the infra-structure are untouched.....they wonder why there are so few refugees heading for the borders....are they kidding?...the people in baghdad find it hard to believe there is actually a war going on..aside from loud explosions on the outskirts of the city,thier lives have been basically unaffected.......i don`t know what george and the boys are thinking....at this rate,it scares me how many americans are gonna die.....we started this war....we better be in it to win(don`t misconstrue that comment,i don`t think this was smart).....don`t get me wrong,saddam is a monster,and should go,but,at what price....we`re fighting this war in a half assed manner.....it`s not gonna work.....george,i hope you know what you`re doing.......i hope i`m wrong....
