i actually admire american people, and if it wasnt true, i would not spend so much of my time at this site which is mostly visited by americans.

however i do not agree with US international policy. too many wars, many of them without any reason. too much blood.

I'm not aware of any posters here that are that extreme (to toss the granades). The most die hard, hard core, way out there ideas on this forum tend to come from the conservatives here. The liberals for the most part tend to be moderates.

 

When the dust settles on this one in about 2 weeks. The facts will show that America has done the right thing. This problem could have been ignored like clintoon did and many more would have died. A nuclear 9/11 would kill 100's of thousands.

and by the way, there are several international institutions and organisations that i respect the most, and they all think that this war is unjust, and illegal. I agree with them.

United Nations ( In my mind, this is the World's Supreme Court - had many crisis in the past, but if didnt have them, this world would not be the same today.)

International Red Cross (I actually volonteer for them)

I was brought in an open minded atmoshpere in which I was taught to question my government and all things not logical. I was taught to always ask why and not believe blindly.

Besides I never said the U.S. has done more bad than good. I simply expressed that there are things our government has done that are cause for embarrassment. Some how you seem to keep missing the point by just a bit.

I'm starting to wonder if your tag phrase...

Most Americans have written the UN off as a worthless debating and resolution writing dictators organization that serves no purpose in dealing with people like Saddam. The UN has stood by while other dictators have murdered many people. All the UN can do is draw up worthless resolutions with no teeth in them. What good is that?

What makes you think this will diminish the threat of a nuclear 9/11???
9/11 was headed by Bin Laden who is probably still at large, and the 9 missing briefcase nukes from Russia are believed to be in Afganistan. This strike only increases the risk of terrorist attacks, why do you think they moved up a shade on the National Crayola Color Coded Alert System.

 

As you know the world is becoming very dangerous. We learned today that Russia has been selling Iraq weapons throughout the last year. The US worked behind the scenes with Russian and the weapon were sold anyway via UN flights.

So there are alot of things going on behind the scenes. Singing peace songs will not help.

I don't believe we can allow NK to extort anymore cash from us. I hope they'll back off and abide by the treaty they signed with clintoon.

first of all, i give you credit for being able to discuss about those sensitive issues in a civilized way. if there were more people like you in gouvernements all over the world, many bad things would never happen.

now, i do understand the US take on UN.

however, it is US itself who created or supported many of those dictators and terrorists you are talking about, including Saddam, Pinochet,Bin Laden, and so on.

i never support any war, but for exemple, i thaught that the gulf war in 91 was justified, and supported by UN, against a country that agressed another country.

this time around, the UN doesnt approve the war, and no one was attacking anyone.

the weapons of mass distruction were not found.

no links to al queda, or proofs for iraqui involvement in 9-11 events whatsoever.

 

with that thinking, we should have not even went after OBL or he would only hit us again.

saddam is a threat and when the dust settles it will be clear he was working with al queda.

I agreed with attacking Osama, he took credit for it and we had proof.

In the 12 years since we destroyed Iraq the first time Saddam has not retaliated.

The attack on Afganistan was to go after the master mind behind killing thousands of Americans.
This attack on Iraq is about getting oil and Bush Sr. and Cheney's oil companies getting the clean up contracts.

 

the free press is right there and think we'll get a good idea of the truth, which Iraqi state run TV won't have free press.

i did not give them a place in the security council.

the world did. probably with a reason.

you may deny their role in WWII, but not in WWI.

as for other countries, china liberated itself, russia liberated itself and complete eastern, baltic, and biggest part of central and southern europe. england defended its soil helped the allies in continental europe.

some other european countries fight against nazis by themselves, like yugoslavia, or greece, two countries that liberated themselves pretty much on their own.

usa did not win that war all by itself.
