Zapster Wins Grand Finale In Epic Comeback​

Rx veteran poster Zapster becomes the 2017 Grand Finale Baseball Champion with a spectacular final week that earns him the $850.00 jackpot. He was sitting in 13th place $40 in the red when he went on a 16-2 run good for +3215. Add to that 2 parlay wins for a net +491 and he was a runaway winner. Going into the final day, the top 2, cy1981 #1 and Bloker #1 appeared to be the clear-cut favorites with 8 and 7 unit leads respectively over 3rd place Zapster. They both, however, had a rough Sunday with negative showings and missed on their parlays while Zapster put the hammer down, continuing his epic comeback with a parlay win (+340) and a perfect 3-0 +860 on his straight plays. Newcomer bltuncc27 made a late push to finish 3rd.

Hope everyone enjoyed the unique format we laid out and hopefully we can have a repeat performance in the near future. Zap's winnings payable via PP by Monday AM. Also, need to hear back from Damnhook by PM or email to get squared away.

Congratulations to Zapster. 16-2 kinda looks like the current Dodgers you used to separate yourself yesterday. Was counting the +161 Colorado money at 5-0. But the Dodgers and you were not to be denied. Well done, bud.

Thanks to JOH for his steady commitment to the Contest and us, the players. Had a lot of fun.

As for the final week format, I liked not having to have all bets in at the same time. Sometimes life gets in the way of that.

But I thought that filling in the form for each play was cumbersome and preferred the old way for that reason.

But I thoroughly enjoyed the competition either way and would gladly play either way again.

Do we have time for two more contests 'till the end of the season? Would sure enjoy that.

Congrats Zapster!!! Thanks a lot JOH, thanks for putting up with me and keeping me straight! I really liked the format of the grand finale, it made it more fun!!! I also like being able to put in 5 plays any day. I may be a bit too much of a partier in the summer so I forget to put in the plays on the weekend!!! I would love to do this again with the same format as the finale for the whole thing! Thanks again!

I will admit.. scoring the Finale was a whole lost easier than the weekly format.

I'm looking into a post All-Star Game startup for Part II and maybe upping the ante to $50 weekly entry fee. Will draw up a schedule and put it out for public consumption.

Well we could start up on Tues July 18 and get nine weeks in with a one week final that would take us to Sun Sept 24.
