You guys think that just because an event or incident happens that it is a legal stop.

Thats not the case. What you are referencing most likely included the cops violating people’s rights. It’s as common as right and left

You’re all about hypotheticals aren’t you?

A car can get pulled over by mistake. It happens. But to make requests for anything including an ID and actually provide it is a different thing.

i don’t know why you keep talking about cars when no vehicles were involved in this particular incident. How about talk about people on foot?

If you want to talk about car stops, why didn’t you enter the “cop thinks bird shit is cocaine” thread????? Didn’t fit the narrative?

Jesus Christ. Let me provide an exact scenario for you and I'll go really slow so it makes complete sense to you.

Four guys get in a fight at 7-11. Two guys are shopping and see the fight and try to break up the fight. The 7/11 worker calls 9/11.

As the cops show up to 7/11, they see 6 guys hands on each other and have no idea what is happening. They break up the fight and start asking questions about what's going on. One guy tells the cops to "get lost" and when they start questioning him, he ignores them and starts acting belligerent.

Mob, WHAT IN THE FUCK ARE THE COPS SUPPOSED TO DO? LET HIM GO? ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO IGNORE IT AND LET HIM GO? Why are you so dumb?

No, they detain all 6 and figure out what's going on and then arrest the aggressors. This happens every single fucking day in America. Why is this so hard to comprehend. It's so basic.

I’ll tell you what they aren’t supposed to do. Putting people in chokeholds
Again why do you keep bringing up fighting as a similar situation. The events leading up to Garner’s death had no association with a fight. Why do you keep bringing it up?

I honestly don't know why I expected you to put forth just a little bit of effort and do your homework. You're not as bad as Deep Throater but getting there. Please, to save everyone some time, just read a little. You may learn something.

"On July 17, Mr. Garner had just come from eating lunch with a 23-year-old friend, Ramsey Orta, when a scuffle broke out in front of them on Bay Street. One man accused another, known locally as Twin, of talking inappropriately with his daughter. The girl’s father punched Twin in the face; Mr. Garner shot up from the stoop. “You can’t keep doing this; there are kids out here,” Mr. Garner said, as he held the men apart, according to Ms. Allen.

The men went on their way. Soon after, Officers Damico and Pantaleo arrived.

For Officer Pantaleo, 30, who joined the department in 2006, it was not a typical call. He usually worked in a plainclothes unit focused on violent street crime.

But that afternoon, Lt. Christopher Bannon, driving by, had spotted a group that included Mr. Garner on the sidewalk. He called the precinct to tell officers to “get out there,” according to the former police official. Officer Pantaleo was ordered to go with Officer Damico, 26, an officer since 2010.

With Officer Pantaleo behind the wheel of an unmarked police car, the two officers, in shorts and T-shirts, circled twice, watching Mr. Garner. As they approached, many on the block recognized them as officers and believed they had come in response to the fight, witnesses said; that they moved to arrest Mr. Garner was a surprise.

As the two officers closed in on Mr. Garner, Mr. Orta began taking video that would total about 16 minutes and would be shown to the grand jury impaneled on Staten Island in September to hear evidence in the case against Officer Pantaleo."

Christopher bannon....”driving by.” You said the store owner called earlier Lmfaoooo. You really do just say shit and hope and pray on here.

Bahahahhahaha but why do you think this helps your point? There was no warrant on his arrest...they were stalking him according to that story. He wasn’t under surveillance, they were just stalking him. “Circled twice, watching Mr. Garner.” Go the fuck home losers.

Unlawful stop. Period.

I guess I'll slap you around like a little bitch too since I know you didn't do any goddamn homework either.

"It was March of last year and Gjafer Gjeshbitraj had had enough. A landlord on Bay Street, Mr. Gjeshbitraj went online to 311, the municipal hotline’s website, to complain about men loitering outside his Staten Island apartment building."

They gathered there to sell cigarettes and drugs, he said. One was named Eric.

"Among the most consequential of those complaints appeared to come from Mr. Gjeshbitraj, 47. He said in a recent interview that he complained only after physically fighting with the men on the block who sold drugs. The cigarette sellers, he said, provided cover for more illicit activities."

"The complaints eventually reached Police Headquarters, where leaders track spikes in 311 calls for problems such as noise or graffiti as harbingers of more serious crime. Staten Island commanders were briefed in March on the conditions around Tompkinsville Park, a triangle of land just south of the borough’s main courthouse. Mr. Gjeshbitraj was not the first to lament the disorder there. But after his March complaint, he saw swift changes, mostly in the form of arrests."

I got detained and handcuffed for almost an hour cause I watched a big fight outside of the nightclub at Cesars Palace years ago... But, after they investigated everything and found out who the people fighting were, I was immediately let go.

I wonder what would have happened if I started cursing at the cops and trying to resist them and not comply....?

No reason for me not to comply, I knew I was innocent and had committed no crime and have a clean record.

I think that’s a sign of the cop trying to control the situation, but is it legal? Or do you have to comply with that just because the cop would feel safer? These aren’t laws guys.. Talking to you guys like men would have been the logical thing. I’m not sure what the point of cuffing all of you even is. Just so the guy can talk to you all? Lol that’s sort of outrageous. I see why Enflameo liked this. It’s some stupid ass shit.

Just because the cop does something like that it doesn’t mean it’s right. I think you guys really do know the difference between right and wrong.

I think enflameo jus loves to argue. Mr. combative wasn’t given to him for nothing

Have said multiple times already, when they pulled up to the scene, for once in Garner's miserable existence on this earth, he was not committing a crime.

I don't know how many other ways I can say it. You either can't read, don't want to read or are just plain dumb. I lean to #3 and knowing you're about 24-years-old and woke, all makes complete sense.

Shut the fuck up clownboy, you never answered me directly until now.

No crime then it’s an illegal detainment. That simple. What do you not understand? The guy was walking down the street minding his own business. Did it tell you that in the story? No call was made on him, he wasn’t committing a crime, but yet he dies at the hands of blue isis. Just like many others similar to him. You need to learn your rights Enflameo. You don’t even know what you served for. Pathetic.

If this is the case, why is the officer stating he saw Garner selling cigarettes to someone wearing red? And how come a different officer states that the interaction doesn’t involve the fight, but is about something else? It’s all on video dude

Just like my wrong car scenario provided to you in plain English, people that have not committed a crime get detained all the time. It literally happens hundreds of time each day. These people are usually in the wrong place at the wrong time or look like a fleeing suspect or whatever the case may be. It happens all the time and Garner's case is not unique.

Did you really call cops blue Isis? Am I reading this correctly?

Because the cops are douchebags? How come when I provided you the factual narrative about a fight, you didn't respond?

Why do you ask me questions like I"m an idiot then when I provide you the proof you're too lazy to find yourself you don't acknowledge how wrong you are?

the factual narrative? I find plenty of stuff while doing research. You KEEP BRINGING UP A FIGHT. Yeah the fight happened, but the cops were not responding because of that
D’Amico and Pantaleo had parked their patrol car about 300 feet from the corner. D’Amico testified that he did not see a fight; he only saw Garner make a loosie sale. Two weeks earlier, D’Amico had busted Garner for selling cigarettes at the same location but, after an intense exchange, let him off with a warning. This time, D’Amico testified, he planned to arrest him.
