Numberz, not trying to sound combative, but the rules of this forum are pretty clear. You must post widely available lines. Not what you got from a local bookie. I have noticed you doing this before, and I lost a play one time that you won. I had the widely available line while you had your bookie line. You can see how that can skew your record here.

Edit, on second thought I pushed a play one time that you won. Not lost like I said above.

I am referring to the argument above in this thread. Numberz stated he will post whatever line he gets. I am all for him getting great value lines, but the rules for proper line posting and records have to be adhered to.

Numberz I'll give you a specific example of a time you posted a line here that was nowhere close to what anyone could get at the time of your posting besides a local. The night the Spurs had 3 starters out last week. The line shot up from -7 to -12. You were able to still get the original price with your local bookie. You posted the play at the original low number of around 7, and counted that on your record. However, at the time of your post every online book had the line at -12 or so. The Spurs lost by 9 that night, and anyone who got the -12 would have lost. Yet your -7 posted play showed a win.

thats a really bad example paddy. check other posts and they had posted denver at 4 or so, mind you it was very early in the day. that line kept moving up by the second so it would only be fare that he booked his line and then posted it. If you have a problem on his lines you should confront him on the spot. lines always move and i know you know that. don't cast stones after the fact. He still is MR.N and very respectable. The line you got the push on probably was booked quite a bit later than his post.

you started by saying "not trying to sound combative" but infact you are sounding combative.

Numberz stated above he will post whatever line he gets. That is exactly what I am addressing. His record is skewed because of this. There is a sticky thread at the top of the forum that states the rules in black and white. By posting whatever line he gets he is stating he will not follow the rules of this site. I have ignored his off line postings until I read that statement.

I made a specific reference to the Memphis play last night, and said, -2 is what I played, and so -2 is what I posted. Did not say anything about not wanting to follow the rules of this site, etc. Please do not put words in my mouth. The percentage of plays, where I play a line that is better than the one, that is widely available, is very small. Probably about 1/25 plays. I bet at multiple online, and local books to ensure I get the best line I can. If the 1 out of 25 plays that I make with a better line, through, a local, or a specific online account, that has a better number than the rest, is this much of a big deal, then I do not know what to say anymore. I will definitely not lie about the line that I play, in order to make a few posters happy, especially considering how rare it is that I am using a number, that is not widely available. Cannot help but notice the negativity that has cluttered this thread over the last 2 days, and needless to say it is beginning to take its toll. You are the 2nd poster to question the credibility of my record based on only a couple of plays, where I was the beneficiary of a better line, as the result of me betting through multiple books. A couple of plays, out of the 124 games that I have posted on this website! I will not have the work I put into this season, belittled, by the insensitive remarks of a few posters, because of only a few plays...I've put too many hours into this, to be insulted by remarks about my record. I am proud of my work, and enjoy what I do. Nobody can take that away from me. If this drama continues I will not see this through. I am very saddened and disappointed at what has become of my thread. An excuse for people to complain about plays they were not able to follow, for one reason or the other. This is not a court of law, and I am not on trial. And yet, that is exactly, what this has felt like over the last 2 days. A part of me is feeling like I should have never returned from my break over the weekend. I have found over the years, that maintaining a positive outlook throughout the duration of a season, to be important in terms of being successful. I hoped that yesterday's negativity would not spill over into today, and yet here we are. Going to play things by ear from here on out, and see how much further people are willing to take this. Will do my best, to be as patient as possible, but will not sacrifice my piece of mind for anyone on this forum. I joined this website to share my picks, thinking I could help people in some way. I did not join to be harassed because of a hook, and have my work humiliated based on a couple of lines, out of the 124 that I have bet, which were different than those widely available. Anyway, let's see where this goes.

GL to everyone tonight,

Hey NumberZ,

I'm not going to get into the issue of what is right or wrong in regards to posting the actual lines or the widely available lines. I just wanted to say that you shouldn't spend so much time dealing with such issue. Just continue capping and doing what you like to do. Don't let this matter get to you.

For those of you who don't like the lines that NumberZ is posting and feel that it is skewing his record, then don't look at his thread or follow his plays anymore. It's just a post... you guys don't really need to get so worked up about it. It's just ridiculous how things are getting so out of hand here at The Rx. Just let NumberZ post his plays and let him be. This site is meant for informational purposes and is meant to help people learn how to bet on sports and to talk sports. It's not a I AM BORED forum meant for us to go on and bash other people.

Numberz, you have misinterpreted my posts above. Obviously words on a forum can be interpreted differently than if I were talking to you in person. I never stated that you are purposely skewing your record, or trying to be deceptive. I am just reinforcing the point of posting widely available lines. I am pointing these things out so there will not be any questions or disputes in the future. Btw, if you do post a different line, say that is a 1/2 point or full point off, you are supposed to post the juice, such as -120, -130 etc. Otherwise it is assumed it is a -110 selection.

I wish you all the best.

I agree with you whole-heartedly, and I find the loffensive questions you have received to be both rude, and out-of-line. You are posting your picks here for free are under obligation to adhere to scrutiny or offensive remarks of any kind. I'm not sure where some people get this false sense of entitlement in this free forum, but I recommend they go with one of the tracked members here, or pay a tout if they want to make the alluded to type of posts. I, for one, hope you continue here and I hope you realize that 99% of the people who read or contribute to this thread share my sentiments. Keep up the good work!

dont listen to what people say numberz. the people that actually follow you and watch your picks everyday know that you dont lie about your lines. lines change in a second, and if people dont know that they shouldnt be betting. you post your plays early and place your own bets even earlier then most people look, so it can only bye expected that the lines will change a little. hell a couple weeks ago i remember getting a better line before game time then the one you posted. i always tell my friends that when people hate, its because your doing something right. keep doing your thing Z

Paddywack, you wrote above, and I quote: "His record is skewed because of this." Pretty hard to misinterpret that. If I were NumberZ, I would have interpreted that the same way he did.

I have followed NumberZ for some time now, and I think he is one of the few good, reliable handicappers in here. I have consistently been able to get my plays in at the lines he has posted. The only exceptions (that I can think of) are the Denver game where the line went way up by the time I read his pick and the Memphis line the other night, that came in anyway. It would be one thing if his posted lines were always in his favor, but I have NOT found that to be the case, at least for me and the lines I get at my book.

I do not think his record is skewed, I believe it to be very accurate. What is your record, Paddy ?

Sorry if I missed it, but what's your record Numberz? Also, are action plays larger than small plays?

I would like to thank everybody for their support. It is much appreciated. :toast:

Paddy, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that something was lost in translation, between you writing the post and me reading it. Me and you have had no problems in the past, so we're all good as far as I'm concerned :103631605

It's time to move on, now..
