The reason neteller is delaying payments is they are out of cash.

They are required by UK law to have 110% of money in short term investments... 1 week CDs, etc. They have to liquidate these.

This is why they took 3 days to announce... Now 2 more days to liquidate.

US member update

Effective Immediately

Due to recent US legislative changes and events, effective immediately, US members are no longer able to transfer funds to or from any online gambling sites.

All US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account to safely transfer funds to and from non-gambling merchants and are not required to close their account or withdraw their funds.

Please note that we are experiencing higher than normal support volumes and recommend that you read the FAQs for more information.

Is my money safe in my NETELLER account?

Yes, your money is safe with NETELLER. All members can hold their funds safely in their NETELLER accounts until such time as they decide to move the funds. The changes in gambling merchant transfers do not affect the ability of US member to maintain funds in their NETELER e-wallet accounts. NETELLER protects all members’ funds (all deposited, in-transit and un-cleared funds) by holding the value in independent trust accounts. As the largest independent online money transfer business in the world, we maintain our head office in Europe and are a publicly quoted company on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. NETELLER UK Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

Guess the us gov said they would forgive 200 million in debt if they would get rid of the sportsbooks here. Has to do with the free trade agreement that is about to get passed here.

Hope the CR gov grows a set but I highly doubt it. Things should get interesting around here real soon.[/quote

Us flexing its muscles by bullying and buying people off...........ahhhhh the American way! Or should I say the Bush way?

Funny that there's nothing in the news about either the CR considering running off the sportsbooks or any "free trade agreement". The only free trade agreement I'm aware of is CAFTA (Central America Free Trade Agreement) and as of yesterday Costa Rica was going to reject this:

>>
San Jose, Jan 16 (Prensa Latina) Costa Rica, the only Central American nation, plus Dominican Republic, that has not yet approved the free trade agreement with the United States is now extremely unlikely to do so with the two major congressional parties adamantly opposed.
Government Minister Rodrigo Arias admitted Tuesday that it is difficult to approve the US CAFTA-DR due to increasing rejection in Congress and with the majority of Costa Ricans against it, as witness huge demonstrations in several cities in the latter part of last year.
Arias said there was no clarity reached following a meeting with the 25 legislators from PLN (National Liberation Party).
PLN Leader Mayi Antillon said the party will stay firm in rejecting the project, that three draft bills aimed at expediting its approval did not reach consensus and the Legislature has more pressing, national, matters to attend to than dealing with this legislation for the United States.

Prensa Latina, WTF kind of publication is that? Some communist propoganda rag?

The protests were yawn events and every poll has shown 70+% in favor of TLC. I wouldn't trust an article that makes such huge misstatements of fact.

[Update] Jesus, ghost, did you seriously just quote a news publication of the Cuban government?

Here was the real news Tuesday:

" The government appears to have the 38 votes needed to ratify the free trade treaty with the United States and other Central American countries...

...it appears that Guyón Massey, the only member of Restauración Nacional in the legislature, and José Manuel Echandi, the only member of the Partido Unión Nacional, have come on board in favor of the treaty."

That's a bullshit rumor too, Arias requires Libertario support for passage of TLC. Libertarios have always tried to protect the gaming industry from government meddling.

White House doesn't give a shit about offshore gambling, I guarantee the topic never even came up.

This country is a fucking joke. We fight a mother fucking war in the name of freedom, yet I can not spend my money as I chose. I feel like going as long as possible with out paying my taxes and hitting the road once the shit starts hitting the fan. Fuck I am so fucking pissed off right now that I feel like going downtown and rioting. Nobody gives a shit that our freedoms are being taken away one by one. I bitch all day long about this at work and people look at me like I am insane. I asked this dumb flanel shirt wearing fuck what he would do if the goverment outlawed killing woodland creatures and he says he would shoot some politicians. Now you know how I feel.
