If my math is correct, the picks NOT counting the small college which I have NEVER counted in my record keeping win or lose,

so far the Late Phones are 3-4 and -3.4 units with five games outstanding.

If Oregon and San Jose St., both cover, it will be a 7-5 day, and if my math is correct, +7.3 units for the day.

Back in the morning for the official tally.

Well the loss on Oregon turned a decent winning day into a losing one as the Late Phone picks aside from the smaller colleges

go 6-6 and lose 1.1 units in addition to the 2.5 units or $250 purchase price.

I am awaiting confirmation of these on today's comp. line.

Back later.

I made a mistake, and interpreted the under to be in the Montana game rather than in the La Monroe game yesterday because

it was written I thought that MON stood for Montana.

That means that the totals yesterday because the UNDER in the Monroe game was a loser.

Thus the corrected record for the day is 5-7 overall and -7.4 units lost rather than the 1.1 lost.

On the comp. line today it is stated that Late Phone went 2-1 yesterday or 1-1-1 depending on line when the bet was placed on the Detroit

game which was either 2 1/2 or 3.

I checked Scoresandodds and see that line wax 2 1/2 when it was given out at 11 and also was 2 1/2 from 8 in the morning

until game time.

Therefore when I do my weekly and cumulative recap for the week tomorrow, I am grading the play as a W.

Here are the new record-keeping figures through last night Monday, November 6:

Coming off a 7-4 week with combined college sides and totals with their star-rated Late Phone Plays and a 2-2

in the NFL, here are the cumulative records through Monday, November 6:

College Sides and Total 46-61-5

NFL 20-22

The total cost of service is $2992 so far for a non-Power Sweep or Power Play subscriber.

A $100 player playing these games according to scale and adding in the cost of service is MINUS $8542

ps College sides are now 32-46-2 or 41% which in effect picks right up where they left off last season with sides finishing at 37%

for the ENTIRE SEASON!!

Todd never mentions this record but rather talks about only a few things that have won over VERY CAREFULLY SELECTED

time frames!!

The SCRIPTED College side GOY goes this Saturday.

It goes without saying that Todd only brags about how well this particular play has done over a selected period of time

but not the deplorable college sided overall record for THIS SEASON!!

WOW! Northcoast is awful! A great fade! These last two years have to be possibly the worst two years by any one service in college football.

I agree especially in college sides for the last two years.

In some ways NC is a better fade than theLang because over a week's time they give out a lot more plays than does Lang one game

a day although to be fair unlike Lang they are a football service only meaning that NC doesn't give out plays from the time the

Superbowl ends in early February until late August when football resumes.

When Lang was giving out plays when he worked for Eddie Roman he gave out 3 plays a day. When Lang was a 3 plays a day handicapper he was as bad or worse than Northcoast. Take a look at Phil Steele / Northcoast's College Football magazine. It's all chalk every year. to finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each conference. He hasn't picked a surprise team like TCU last year or Arizona or Missouri this year to do well in the 10 years I have purchased the magazine. All he is from my study is an information gatherer.

You have Phil Steel down to a tee!!

He does and has done everything in the EXACT same manner as he has since he started NC around 40 years ago even if

they don't work which has obviously been the case for a long time and especially over the last few years.

When I was at another forum which is now defunct, one of the insiders told me that Steele is incredibly arrogant and that when

a game doesn't cover it is not because of his handicapping skills but because the team(s) didn't do what his impeccable

handicapping stated that they were supposed to do!!

Using different handicapping criteria and/or at least updating the current ones to how games are played today as opposed to

20-40 years ago is a no-no with him!!

This type of arrogance applies in fact to everything surrounding NC.

I mean think of it for a minute; his phony/bogus promotion discounts tied to his newsletter subscriptions are exactly the

same as when he started NC, way back when, and never has changed, his scandalous lies of omission, spin, using favorable time frames

and selectivity with his record-keeping is the same as it has always been as well as his SCRIPTED Games of Something

that are not based on merits but on marketing needs only!!

And yes you are quite correct in referring to his magazines as information gatherers!!

This also applies to his weekly publications where Steele compiles as much shit as he can into them to stoke his ego and show people

out there how much information he can gather as opposed to other services that only gather a fraction of how much he does!!

He also brags about his 100 -100 hour-a-week-plus work week to compile this mostly useless garbage for gambling purposes!!!

The bottom line though as you overall he sits near the bottom whereas virtually all of the services that sit near the top put in

a TINY percentage of the time and effort that he does.

What the better cappers also possess that Steele does not have and never will is just a plain old intuitive sense based on not

only stats but an overall feel for games!!

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this.

As usual, when I post something that I consider worthy, I will also email this to Phil Steele, not that I expect Mr know-it-all

to consider anything I say worth considering!!

Well said about Steele's handicapping....

By the way, I think you have his past week's record wrong? (Unless I misread)

I have him at 3-4 on sides, and 2-3 on totals, making the overall week = 5-7

You are correct.

I have the overall deficit right but forgot to change the 7-4 which was last week's record to 5-7 which I clearly stated previously

in post 224!!

Thanks for the correction!!

Most importantly the overall record for the season as posted originally was/is still correct!!

For those who follow, NC had two Marquee losers tonight on UNDER Baltimore and BC according to the Sports Monitor.

ot-I just emailed this to Phil Steele/NC:

"A few "minor inaccuracies" from Todd(comp. line guy):

  1. He says Late Phone picks have gone 18-12 of late or 65%!
Really-last I heard 18-12 is 60%!!

The question is if you and/or Todd ever learned how to divide in school and/or are just plain lying.

For me, it is a combination of both!!

  1. As documented by me, your Saturday Late Phone Record is not 18-12 over the last three weeks but 18-16 or 53%.
But go ahead and keep lying, spinning and offering laughable promotions which in effect are nothing

but discounts from unrealistic.insulting msrp prices to begin with!!
