First thought would be blackjack but as other posters have said the casinos are making it tough.

I would say NL holdem. The thought behind this is the name of the game is to make the other guy make a mistake. I say when you do get them to make a mistake its better to get paid off as much as possible. In limit you might just get 2 more bets from a bad play instead of thier whole stack.

Limit by far. Pick up Small Stakes Hold'em by David Sklansky and you'll crush the local low limit games in a week. Game takes a lot of discipline but that should be no problem for you.

Where do I begin with this post other than to say it's the worst advice someone has given you in this thread.

its actually by far the best advice in the thread BY FAR.

low limit -limit poker is extremely easy to beat...just play very very tight and wait for others to make mistakes.

as far as the people saying bj...LMAO .

i guess they really are that clueless.

1/1000 maybe cant beat bj in the longterm.

1/10 can beat low limit poker.

Without counting cards and bet spreading, the only thing that card
(basic strategy) will do is slow down the rate of losses. BJ is
still a negative expectation game when using basic strategy.

Thanks but I did realize that already.

No limit poker sucks. NL is better. You want to max the payoff when they make a mistake. No better way than to play no limit.

I play at 100-200 buy in NL holdem here and I see so many bad plays its almost funny to watch. It just sucks when they still manage to suck out on you. I never seem to get my money back from the person that sucks out on me.

Always try to isolate the weak players and you will be better off.

very true......nl would put a rookie in 2 many spots where his stack would be put in jeopardy, whereas in limit he doesnt get stacked when someone flops a set vs his aces.

he just loses 2 more bets.

Telling a guy that's never played hold 'em before to read a book and he'll make a profit in a week is just ridiculous.

reading comprehension 101 sir.

he asked out of the 3 what would be the easiest and quickest.

the only answer is limit hold em.

and yes a monkey who can memorize hand ranking and will play tight/ disciplined can beat lowest limit- limit hold em very quickly

Giving bad advice 101 sir.

NL or limit hold em' is neither easy nor quick to learn. I think the answer to his question is no games he mentioned are easy or quick or we'd all be rich. And no, not all monkeys playing tight disciplined poker can win.

lol..well we know there is at least one losing poker player in this thread.

just b/c u cannot do something does not make it hard.

no one is getting rich of low limit -limit poker first of all.

and yes anyone playing tight disciplined smart poker at the lowest limits of limt poker will win.

the advice was spot on whether u realize it or not.

I can assure you I play and win more poker than you do and I can assure you it takes years to become a good disciplined poker player.

If none of the above was a choice that's what I'd say. You could make more money with ur time doing lots of other things

Low limit is my answer if none of the above is not a choice.

a. he's played hold'em before (guy who started the thread)

b. how do you know you've made more money playing poker than this guy? (guy you are arguing with )

c. I think you're wrong (about everything you've said)

If you think that you've got problems... I read Low Limit Hold'em and in less than a week was beating the low limit games online. In fact, I averaged around 3BB/100 over ~80,000 hands (4 tabling). Stopped playing when Party closed their doors to Americans but I can't imagine it's much harder now. In fact, I've heard 2/4 online is akin to 20/40 live in Vegas so Ice should have no problem beating these types of games as he is smart, dedicated and as disciplined a guy as you'll find around here, not to mention he understands making +EV decisions is more important than short term results.

And no, not all monkeys playing tight disciplined poker can win.

It's not about playing tight, it's about playing tight/aggressive.
