I'll be brief now because I will get into other angles later in the week. Basically if it loses I would have one main nfl playoff theory still kicking. Which is my main theory which didn't come into play this year. The rest of my theories would be disproven. Every playoffs is different but there are years that compare. This superbowl feels like it has a combination of like 5 playoffs and superbowls in one. I really do expect this game to be epic. Somebody said it in a different thread, all of the patriots superbowls are close, that's for sure true. But partially my theory and reasons are when teams dominate the regular season they don't bring home the bread in the superbowl. I've said that in the past and I still firmly believe it especially for a team that is a story franchise, but honestly any team. When the patriots started winning their superbowls they were dominating and on the rise. Not many saw it coming. So two years ago they beat the mighty Seahawks in the superbowl as they were no where near relevant ats even with a better offense.
But this particular team just does nothing that lures you in and that actually scares me. They don't have two fantasy tight ends or a 6"4 goat receiver. They do everything right but they don't attract you with big play makers. Just everyone does their job like bellichek says. and I have no side theories like record jinxes and such like that that qualify against either team. I have nothing that says they can't win. But I have a lot of history supporting they wont cover. Not saying they will win or lose, because that's how close I expect this superbowl to be. They win all their superbowls on the last play. That's why 3 pts are a gift imo. Dan Quinn prepared his team in the superbowl 2 years ago. Imo THAT is critical. Everyone says oh belichek gets a bye week to game plan on you. He/they are game planning for a brand new team and most difficult offense next to the greatest show on turf, while Dan Quinn has a head start from two years ago minus gronk. Obviously a different defense, but ATL is disciplined on defense. They aren't blowing coverage and their speed should make chris hogan a non factor. I think the falcons do enough to cover. But I could honestly see New England winning 26-24, 27-26 or something. Both of these defenses are good in the red zone, no one is talking about that. I see both defenses coming up in that part of the field and forcing field goals for both offenses.
I am just going to shit out angles all week leading up
Also I think it is a huge mental advantage to know pre playoffs no matter what for Atlanta they were going to be playing in a dome all the way through including the superbowl. They had that shot in 2012-13 but there was no way they were gonna win that nfc champ game. They never had to even think about taking their fast track offense outside on grass and in the cold elements this year. That has to be comforting knowing that imo.
