As of the 2015 season, the Chiefs last playoff victory was January 16, 1994 when they defeated the Houston Oilers, 28-20, in the divisional playoffs. The Chiefs have lost 6 straight playoff games since then.

Yeah, for some reason, just like the Bengals, they both can't win playoff games.

Let's look at the first game on tap for the playoffs..........

Chiefs -3 at Texans

Teams that have a winning streak of 8 or more games going into the playoffs is 0-7 ATS in their 1st playoff game (from Rolltides thread)............the Chiefs are red hot winning 10 str games.

The Texans have won 7 of their past 10 games, not too shabby.

Texans won 34-6 two weeks ago & 30-6 last week..........their defense did very well.....it was against their pathetic defense, but nonetheless, NFL teams.

I will dig deeper into this game, but I'm starting to like the Texans.

I ccan't remember the last time the Chiefs won a playoff game........iI know they're 0-3 past 10 years......& let's not forget the huge lead they had on the Colts several years ago & lost the game.

Those are telling trends TCG. I like KC but this warrants a closer look.

I know the Texans offense is not great but i just don't see how the Chiefs will score, they will cover Maclin witj Joseph and over the top wherever he lines up because they are not scared of anything else. They will put Kareem Jackson on Kelce and put their other safety in the box and dare Smith to beat them with someone else.

This might be a 13-6 game unless KC is able to create short fields by taking advantage of whoever they play at left tackle.

Justin, I tried to type Texans against their pathetic division, but it came out against their defense.

Yes, I also agree it will be a low scoring game......

You're absolutely right about certain high rollers getting to bet first before the public in Vegas, then they put out the line........I was told the exact same scenario by the Stardust sports book manager back in 2002.
If it was " Joe Lupo"? he was one best at the Stardust. However Mayday, Bob Martin, Sammy Cohen also were at there best in 2002 as bookies. Joe Lupo was a visionary, far ahead of his time. He says "I think the Internet is basically going to determine (the future of sports betting in Nevada)," Lupo said. "The Internet has become such a big part of sports betting worldwide. If Nevada gets on board, then things will be (all right). "I think the offshore (books) have hurt the illegal bookies more than they've hurt us, but they have had an impact here. Everybody has a computer now, and you can sit in front of your computer and make your bet. Before, you had to hop on a plane and come to Nevada."
I use to know Frank Lefty Rosenthal who was sports book manager at Stardust in 70S. J.J. myself use too hang out with Lefty Rosenthal and Bob Martin who told us stories about how the line got ironed out before it was given to the rest of the world. The bar was Thoroughbred lounge owned by Bill Miller[Boxing promoter for strip fight of week at the silver slipper casino on the strip in the 70s} where we use meet. The sportsbook we use you hang out was right next door where we use make our bets Sammie Cohen's Santa Anita Sports Book across street from Stardust in 70s.

Yes Harry, it was Lupo........cool guy. I liked talking to him. He would ask me every Sunday if Iwas hhungry, & would give me a free meal ticket to any restaurant at the Stardust, but I would always choose to go to the Cafe on the first floor tho, I would get the surf & turf.......I could have chosen the expensive fancy restaurant on the upper floors which I think was named after a food network chef if I'm not mistaken but never did,

Vegas is definitely a cool experience!

Home dogs in the wildcard round are 13-5-2 ATS since 1978...........

The Vikings look so tempting but I can't pull the trigger.......Seattle is so dominant.......& I'm trying to figure out if the public will fall for the absurd blowout last week in Arizona......because IMO, the Cards laid down.

That was when KC had Joe Montana, I still remember the game.

Adding:

Vikings +6 (-115).............(XX-Large)

Seattle just beat the Cards in Arizona, & I don't care what anyone says, IMO, Arizona laid down in that game........they had nothing to gain by winning, & Arian's knew Carolina would wax Tampa.

Vikings a nice 6-2 SU & AT at home.........Seattle was 3-2 ATS as a road fav this season......one of those was smashing the Vikings in Minny.

Big revenge game for the Vikings, & most people think AP will be contained like last time. I see a high scoring game..........

And let's not forget how Seattle got beat down at home vs the Rams in week 16 as a -11 point home fav........same Rams team that lost to the 49ers in week 17.......gotta live the NFL!

I see a 3 point win by either side........

Gbay ML (+100)..........(XX-Large)

Skins had a nice ride into the playoffs, but let's not kid ourselves, Cousins is in over his head in this playoff game vs Rodgers & Gbay.

Skins have played really well at home (6-2) this season, while the Packers (5-3) on the road........don't be fooled by Gbay being a dog, this line will be Gbay -3 by game time, & no, it doesn't scare me that Gbay will be getting all the money.

I was against Gbay at home vs the Vikings......Rodgers was throwing the ball to the other team, looked on purpose too, lol! You make your own conclusion on why he played as bad, but come Sunday in the playoffs, Rodgers will play decent enough to win.

***Since 1981, teams who have won their last 2 regular season games, & scoring 30 or more points, & holding their opponents that they beat to 12 or less points are 1-21 ATS in first round of playoffs........take the Chiefs -3***

Texans scored 30 or more in 2 str before playoffs & allowed less than 12 in each game.

Even with this system, i m still up in the air on taking the Texans........I think I will just stick with the teaser on Texans.

The key to the Texans winning will of course depend on their defense. They have on occasions been easy to pass on, and their tackling by their linebackers has been terrible at times. They get beat when they don't pressure the QB and allow him to either run or throw all over them.

I know this is the downfall of many teams, but I watch the Texans play and this is what happens when they lose. They need to contain Smith in the pocket and not give up big pass plays like they did earlier in the season.

Their defense has to win this game in my opinion.

I pulled the trigger on the Seahawks right away when it was released at 3.5.....Line hit 6 and has comeback down to 5. The temps will be below zero temp and wind chill will be in the -20s below. Teddy played out of his mind on a cold Sunday Night game vs the Giants...but it was the Giants. The following week at GBay in a similar cold game he struggled mightily ball seem to sail on him time after time. I know that the weather will effect both teams but I feel a heck of alot better taking the seasoned Playoff veteran in Mr. Wilson.
