You can come out from behind the couch now B4F. Love a win-win scenario.

I cant stand watching Roddick play. His game sucks and his big serve bails him out of trouble on so many occasions.

When will Roddick ( and Connors ) learn that you cant come to the net and beat Federer. Fedman is kicking his ass every time he approaches the net.

yep, I already stated this, agreed. Of course, it's a great tactic, must pressure Fed--however, you have to pick your spots, Andy doesn't. Especially now that he's getting tired, coming in on anythign, FOOLISH decisions. Did that at US Open in the decisive, in the very tight 3rd set--did that at Wimbledon as well. WIth his massive forehand, of course it's a great idea to come in--he has a 2-cent brain, ANdy does

Its quite obvious that im not a Roddick fan, but surely Connors can see what you and I watching and that he is getting his ass handed to him every time he comes to the net. He has to take some responsibility for these tactics ( or lack of ).

In saying that, in my opinion one of Federer's greatest talents ( if not his best ) is his ability to not only get balls back that most players wouldnt be able to, but putting them back into impossible spots and immediately turning defence into attack.

I dont get it, syd. I DONT KNOW WHAT CONNORS has done for him, I see very little change in his tactics. Altho he does appear to be less behind the baseline (his loss Vs Marcos at Melbourne Park in Jan was a riot--he was nearly playing 6 feet behind th ebaseline!!!!, Marcos blasting winners after winners and Andy not changing).

Fed conserves energy due to his INCREDIBLE technique. He's not of a position ,rarely ever. Backhand, forehand pure flawless, technically. It's a pity he doesn't show off his naturally gifted net game, he doesn't go nearly enough, not even at Wimbledon. I thought he was bored at WImbledon 2006 and wanted to show us all he can win it from the baseline too.....

5-3 Rog.....

Boredom seems to be his biggest challenge, aside from trying to beat Nadal on clay. In some matches last year I could have sworn he would drop service games on purpose early in matches just to give himself a task.

It would be extremely hard to motivate yourself when you are 10 times better than the guys ranked #3 in the World and lower. Its going to be him against history over the next couple of years as there is no one who can challenge him on a consistent basis, and thats only going to make it tougher for him to maintain his motivation when there is no one on court who can push him.

yep, from a pure sporting standpoint, it was sad to see him not win Roland Garros--he could have won the SLAM-unreal, a slam in our time is truly incredible given the advances in racket tech (helping to level the playing field) and emerging court specialists (specifically the clay specialists). He certainly had Nadal on the ropes at Rome--Fed blew it END OF STORY. He had two match points in that 5th set, two UNFORCED ERRORS on the forehand. The man is human.

Fed's current 3 yr run and his current consecutive grass winning coupled with Nadal's historic consecutive win streak on clay are three mindboggling events.

anyway, congrats to Andy exotic players today. Lebron23fun, sorry bro, i was routing for ya, he had his chance , match point on his serve, mercy.

up next:

David 'i'm a fuckin' nutcase' Nalbandian Vs Ivan 'don't call me when an important tournament is on the line' Ljubicic.......

Yes: Nalbandian to beat Ljubicic @1.75 6/10 (bf)
+ Nalbandian to win 2:0 @3 2/10 (bf)

Nalbandian won here last year 6-2 6-2 against Ljubicic, who isn't in great form in this days ... odds are already going to the south

:howdy:

Well guys ... that sucks :pucking:

Hes gonna screw me

Nalby isn't a very good frontrunner. He's much better when he's trailing. I didn't watch the match but I had Ljubicic to win.

Best play is Nadal in straight sets, Blake to win and Blake/Nadal in a parlay.

See Roddick cost you an hour or two of sleep. I knew there were reasons why I hated that guy.

Lets go Davy!
