Any thoughts on Roddick vs. Federer or Ljubicic vs. Nalbandian guys?

Yes: Nalbandian to beat Ljubicic @1.75 6/10 (bf)
+ Nalbandian to win 2:0 @3 2/10 (bf)

Nalbandian won here last year 6-2 6-2 against Ljubicic, who isn't in great form in this days ... odds are already going to the south

Roddick absolutely no chance of beating Federer, none whatsoever. Dont tumble into the +1000, thats what the books want you to do. They get the sqaures thinking +1000 is a great price because Roddick is a famous player, but he's not in Federer's league, and while he continues to be happy to have the privilige of shaking the great man's hand before and after each match he will never beat him.

I never like getting involved with Nalbandian matches, and all you can hope is that he wants to give defending this title his best shot. Him taking a set off Fedman is good for his for and against if it comes down to the wire which it might, but it all depends on that very fragile psyche of his. There has been steady money for Nalbandian all day and he did look pretty good in the first set the other day, while Ljubicic is starting to look a little tired.

That was a disturbing performance by Nadal today. WHen is this kid going to start to adjust that first serve of his? WHY wont he hit it more flat from time to time? GET THIS--Rafa won 51% of the pts on his first serve--NOT a misprint, 51%!!!! Kudos to Blake, of course, he went for it today, BOMBS away with that brilliant forehand of his. Can't play passive with Nadal, Blake knows that--now 3-0 career with Nadal.

Don't knwo what to make of Ivan, no idea. Lost a set 6-1?? Needless to say not good, his stats were not good also in that match and Nalby is a much better retriever than Andy (not even close actually). Nalbandian is showing some disturbing tendencies to just 'quit' lately. He is first and foremost a grinder, A FIGHTER. He tanked that second set Vs Wawrinka a few weeks back, and did the same Vs Fed two days ago, just going thru the motions. Again, don't know what's happening with this man.

I think Andy is going to the net WAY too much. This guy has delusions of grandeur--did work ok for him Vs Ivan. WONT work Vs Fed tho, got to pick his spots when coming to the net Vs Fed. He wont do that tho, makes silly decisions. Certainly value for Andy at +4.5 or not Fed 2-0 +225

After what Nadal did today, I have no idea how he handles Davy. RObredo ALWAYS plays Davydenko tough, no surprise he took a set off him, but when push came to shove, the in form Russian ripped hin in the 3rd.

gl gentleman.

looks like some new folks are posting tennis here, THANK YOU!!!!.......Hopman Cup just around the corner in early Jan...:103631605

have a good day all.

Nalbandian's quitting tendencies are not a recent occurance Hope, theyve been ongoing for a couple of years now, hence me not betting on his matches. He can go from dominating a match to almost throwing it away in 15 minutes. If any one player ( Sharapova aside, although she prefers offcourt ) is going to benefit from on court coaching it will be Nalbandian. He is always good for a brainsnap and it just depends on how long and large he allows it to affect him for as to how it can affect the result.

Nadal's first serve is substandard for a player ranked #2 in the world and im surprised that more players dont attack his first serve. He can get away with it on clay as the serve is just a starting point for a rally, but on the harder and faster courts he is having to work too hard to win a lot of points. He only served one ace today and he is not doing himself any favours by not trying to improve such a kep part to his game. He is very similar in this regard to Lleyton Hewitt where both players dont get enough easy or free points on their own serves and a lot of their service games can be a struggle. However, its not like he doesnt have the tools, the guy is 6'1" and has tremendous upper body strength and he should be getting a lot more out of his serve.

Ive watched a lot of Ivan over the past 18 months and I really dont see anything in his game to make him a top 5 player, yet he continues to have success. Its got me beat.

Dont even get me started on Roddick. He is one of the most overrated players of all time. He is a very limited player who has a huge serve and nothing else. Once he has to play a third shot ( after his serve, and first forehand bash come back ) in a rally he is absoluely clueless. His record against good returners of serve is terrible. His backhand is ordinary and he lacks the tennis smarts and patience to construct a point ( much like Safin ).

Good luck this week guys. I was waiting for Davy to play Nadal but it looks like all of the value might be gone by the time the two meet.

You should bet on Roddick to win outright. Federer going down tonight. You heard it here first.

I cant see Roddick winning a set, but a tie-break might make things a little close for comfort. The second set would then become a sweatbox and a break would be desperately needed. Even a break in each set to the Fedman could make it close, depending on who serves first.

Do you see Roddick keeping his serves till match point
in both sets or breaking Fed?according to their past history it seems as unlikely
but i appreciate your insight.i don't find any value betting on anything else
the question is whether to take A or B,who would you advise me to go for
under current spread, odds posted and their past performance and current shape each is at?

Theres definitely no value betting on anything else in the match, so I can see you looking at the handicap. Im an avowed Roddick hater so I would very rarely tip anyone into betting on Roddick, but I do think he could stretch a set out to a TB, if he is serving well. I cant see him breaking the Fedman on this surface.

If youre looking for a play I would have to agree with you and go with Federer minus 4 games. He is not going to lose the match, so you have that in your favour, and hopefully he can get a break in the first set and you can lock a couple of games into your pocket and deathride Roddick for the remainder of the match.

Thanks syd..it seems that this is the bet to go with
as Fed consistent and stable for the most,i will give this a shot.
I thought of the other match but there
it seems anything possible..so i rather stick to this one.

Appreciate the fact you are here to help!

BTW do you ever sleep :) ?

I dont know about helping too much, im more in the " trying not to cause too much harm " dept. I hate betting after the US Open as a long season is drawing to a close and players carry niggling injuries, and you dont know how much theyre truly into it. However, one thing you cant question is Federer's integrity and he is on a quest.

The wildcard here though with the handicap is that Roddick might serve out of his ass and get a lot of free points which could help him get to a TB easier. He wants as many points as possible to be over within 3 shots ( serve, Fed's return, Roddick second shot ) otherwise he will get his ass kicked.

I cant afford to sleep, I might miss something. ;-)

Thats why the bookies will never go broke. There are too many optimists in the World.

Well it seems that -4 right now is wishful thinking.
I added another 2 bets hoping to see this end by 3 sets
then i would be laughing regardless of the handicap wager
or else busted :)

I cant see Roddick winning in straight sets, so lets hope you get something back with your 3 set bet.

Got Fed in live play winning 2-1 @3.00 and Roddick @ 6.50.
If Roddick wins 2-1 would be awesome..LOL
Probably also out of question..LOL
Just hope not 2-0!

2-0 is a strip out and a huge shock if Roddick pulls that off. Federer is kicking his ass whenever Roddick comes into the net, but he looks to be out of sorts. Hopefully he can hang in there enough to take this to a third set and then you can cheer Roddick, or a Fedman blowout.
