THE RED SHEET
NOVEMBER 16, 2024 VOLUME 56 - NUMBER 12
Penn State 56 - PURDUE 6 - (3:30 EST) -- Line opened at Penn St minus 28½, and is still minus 28½. Right, another
Red Sheet heavy load to carry, but this situation absolutely calls for such a play. The Nittany Lions are
always among the most respected defensive outfits, once again proving such, with last week's 35-6
romper (293 yd edge) over a Washington team which entered with the nation's 10th-ranked defense.
Nits have topped 30 pts 14 times since LY, while covering at an 11-2 ATS rate as RFs. Boilermakers
are counting the days, with their 3-14 ATS streak, as well as their 330-110 pt deficit in LGs this year.
RATING: PENN STATE 89
Louisville 47 - STANFORD 13 - (3:30) -- Line opened at Louisville minus 20½, and is still at minus 20½. Battle of the
Card. Sure, we can ignore such a large chalk that the Cardinals must carry in this contest. However,
there seems little for Stanford to suit up for. They've dropped six straight games SU, with their only
non-ATS loss over that span coming in their push with Wake Forest, and now they have the "Big
Game" with California on deck. Thus their similar weekly setbacks should continue vs a 'Ville squad
which has posted 45, 31, & 33 pts in L3 outings. 'Ville 15th in total "O", while Stanford is now at122nd.
RATING: LOUISVILLE 89
COLORADO 36 - Utah 13 - (12:00) -- Line opened at Colorado minus 10, and is still minus 10. No question that Deion
has proven his worth, as the Buffaloes have come from a 1-11 SU mark in '22, to LY's 4-8 record,
which made for a nice story. Forget it. This team now stands at 7-2 SU, while owning the 18th spot
in this week's AP poll, with only a 31-28 loss to KansasSt preventing a 7-0 SU run, while already
achieving 7 Straight covers, with QB Sanders at 2,591 PYs, 73%, & 21/6. Only drawback is CU's
"D" which sits at #68. However, Ute "D" in off blowing 21-0 lead over BYU. Stay with smoking Buffs.
RATING: COLORADO 88
SMU 55 - Boston College 24 - (3:30) -- Line opened at SMU minus 17½, and is now minus 17. "Unstoppable" is a very
overused descriptive in the world of sports, and usually incorrectly. However, at the moment, the
'Ponies of SMU might just fill that bill, with their current 536-285 pt edge (+185 pt ATS) in their last 14
games of regular season play, with their lone miss coming in last 1:58 of 18-15 loss to 7th-ranked Byu.
BC LW feasted on sieve "D" of Syracuse (313-39 RY edge), but Smu ranks 5th in the land in run "D".
RATING: SMU 88
Tennessee 26 - GEORGIA 20 - (7:30) -- Line opened at Georgia minus 8½, and is now minus 10. Normal line move as
folks are depending on the bounceback factor, following 'Dawg upset at the hands of OleMiss, much
like 31-13 win over Auburn week after loss to Alabama. But remember, 7 picks thrown by Beck in L3
games, with Vols holding all opponents under 20 pts, while ranking 8th & 5th on total "O" & "D",&
9th in rushing "D". And check this: Georgia has but one cover since August. Revenge for '23 romp.
RATING: TENNESSEE U 88
Green Bay 25 - CHICAGO 12 - (1:00) -- Line opened at Green Bay minus 6, and is still minus 6. As noted on Pointwise,
the Bears have yet to recover from that fabled Hail Mary in loss to Washington, dropping 3 straight,
with a 357-142 RY deficit, as well as coming from a 71-26 pt edge in previous 2 games, to a 66-27 pt
deficit (zero TDS in last 23 drives). NFL can turn on a dime, but digging out of this hole simply not in
the Cards. Packers' 4-game run snapped in Lambeau, but Bears are the perfect recovery solution.
RATING: GREEN BAY 88
