Red Sheet
Connecticut 35 - ARMY 24 -
(12:00 EST) -- Line opened at Army minus 10½, and is still minus 10½. A year ago, the spot on this one would have been around the 17-pt margin, or similar. Fact is that the Cadets are once
again among the leaders in overland production (#2 behind only Air Force), but among the dregs,
defensively, ranking just 71st, with that coming against such powers as Villanova, GeorgiaSt, Colgate,
& Monroe, with mighty UMass on the horizon. Their current 3-0 SU/ATS run has lowered the spot on
this, much to the delight of their backers. Not only is UConn bowl eligible, but is also a weekly profit
producer, covering its last 7 games, the latest in its upset of Liberty, resulting in a +17 pt cover. RATING: CONNECTICUT 89
AIR FORCE 48 - Colorado State 13
- (2:00) -- Line opened at Air Force minus 21½, and is still minus 21½. Right, we despize laying the extra ½ pt when it comes to TDs or FGs, however, that minuscule digit should have
no bearing on the final outcome of this one. The Falcons stand at 7-3, but are hardly a steady factor, as
they've managed to top 40 pts on 4 occasions, while being held below 15 pts in another 4 games. Still
rank 1st in the nation in rushing offense (334 ypg), while the Rams of Colorado St rank 79th in total defense, as well as 123rd in rushing production, never reaching 20 pts all season long. We've pulled the
lever against ColoradoSt, when away from home, more than a few times, with great success. RATING: AIR FORCE 89
KANSAS 41 - Texas 31
- (3:30) -- Line opened at Texas minus 9½, and is still minus 9½. To tell the truth, we were a bit surprised that the 'Horns would have been installed as the chalk here, no matter the number. The Jays
have most always given the Steers, covering their last five in the series, including LY' outright OT
upset, as a 31-pt underdog, no less. KU is on a 9-2-1 spread run, by 129 pts ATS, & the Jays covered their last HG by 23 pts. The Steers hit it out of the park in 49-0 rout of Oklahoma, but have
covered just once since, with -13, -13, +4, & -14 pt margins. Is the right team favored in this contest? RATING: KANSAS 88
WAKE FOREST 40 - Syracuse 17
- (8:00) -- Line opened at Wake Forest minus 10½, and is still minus 10½. A pair of 6-4 bowl eligible squads here, with both seeming to crawl toward the finish line, as the Orange have
dropped 4 straight SU, with the last 3 by a combined score of 98-36, with their formerly decent rushing game on the wrong end of a 930-305 margin over last 4 'Cuse outings. Paper-thin Orange has been a November disaster of late, with this season not looking any different. RB Tucker has
played injured, with little of the explosiveness that exemplified his game. Just can't see any changes. RATING: WAKE FOREST 88
Tcu 34 - BAYLOR 24 -
(12:00) -- Line opened at TCU minus 2½, and is still minus 2½. Well, that's 4-of-5 college Red Sheet games without a line change. Unusual, to say the least. The Frogs are ensconced as a
member of the "mighty 4", needing a perfect record to nail down that spot, as anything less would be
unacceptable, with Tennessee, USC, Clemson, etc rightfully waiting in the wings for a shot at all the
marbles. Frogs just keep on keeping on, with a nation-best 7-1-1 ATS record, with only miss by a single pt in 43-40 overtime win over OklaSt. Balance "O" behind QB Duggan's 25/2. And once again. RATING: TCU 88
Arizona 23 - San Francisco 22
- (8:15 Monday & Mexico City) -- Line opened at San Francisco minus 5½, and is now minus 8. No, this one doesn't exactly fill the "Monday Night Division Home Dog" setup, thanks to
playing this contest "below the border". Fact is that the insertion of Colt McCoy (nearly a name from
the past) resulted in 27-17 upset of the Rams, with a 13½ pt cover. As noted on Pointwise, his record
as the Cards' starting is 3-1. Sure, Arizona is a full 2 games behind the NFC West division leader,
Seattle, but just 1 game behind these Niners. Seems Thursday, Sunday, & Monday Night game are
rife with dog coverings, with this contest almost a natural play to keep it rolling. We will call the upset. RATING: ARIZONA CARDINALS 88
