I find it hard to believe your book won't take payments. Just the fact that you're willing to make payments shows good faith in clearing the debt. Most that don't have it just vanish.
Make payments until it's clear, maybe with some additional vig. It's already been said here, borrowing to pay that debt is just going to cause MORE problems.
Definitely make sure you put a serious beat-down on your friends. Those fuckers should be paying you weekly as well.
Amazing that your guy would not take a payment plan. I have never heard of that, I have two friends that were on one for a few months. It would cost your guy more money to collect from you with force then it wold you just being straight forward with him and asking for a payment plane.
