Wadd, are you telling me this critical branch of govt is GROSSLY corrupt? They are allowing pharma to 'make the calls'- what does that even mean? They are paying them off?

Yes, on many Big Pharma drugs, you bet!
How is it that some of these drugs that have killed thousands of people get approved when Big Pharma knows its going top kill people, get approved?
Use your head.
THEY KNOW THEY ARE DANGEROUS, AND THE FDA APPROVES THEM ANYWAY BASED ON HOW MUCH MONEY THEY WILL MAKE FOR X AMOUNT OF YEARS UNTIL THEY HAVE TO STOP MAKING THE DRUG(s) BASED ON DEATHS!

How do shareholders make money on their investment in stock of Big Pharma co's?

There's no evidence in that article of corruption in the FDA , specifically that big pharma owns their ass, . The introduction of a user fee has SPED up the process of ASSESSSING data. A good thing as citizens have options/hope with new medications that may increase lifespan and/or quality of life. For yrs USA lagged Europe with bringing products to market. Ya see, govt is kinda broke, so the FDA said- 'you want us to work faster?' pay us...... Big Pharm, said, here i'll pay here's our product here's our research.
