I think it wouldn't hurt to explore the possibility...

I agree with you Red...... If I went to every neighbor on my block tomorrow & brought up this scenario & showed them the article from NASA & asked if they would join a group of us in case anything broke out......they would probably think I was crazy.

Most people in society are brainwashed into thinking everything will be okay & the govt will take care of them during these times when in reality, you will have to take care of yourself.

Most people are happy as long as they have their TV, fridge is stocked & a little spending money.....for some reason, they font want to think about the chaos scenarios we're talking about & when it does happen, these same people won't be able to cope & will lose all sense of reality.

The suicide rate alone will be very high on account of people not being able to adjust to dramatic change towards the very worst.

I think you live in one of the safest places in the world.

Just big enough to survive with lots of natural food sources and just small enough for terrorist not to give a fuck.

Yea yea, pearl harbor I know.
But that would never happen again with the technology we have.

I want to agree with u...two things in the back of my mind.

1) any meteor or tidal wave and hawaii is easily burried underwater
2) north korea nuclear missles cant reach here yet but it will reach here before mainland

how sick would it be when the world comes to an end and he is stuck at work or on vacation thousands of miles from the bunker
That would be a Hell of a way to end a movie about the whole situation. Just to see the look of, " AH Fuck " on the bastards face.

I rather ride a horse during those dark days but the problem is, horses need water & food as well.

Time to go Amish.......

^^^^^

Here's a site that has a checklist & what you need to prepare for the scenarios discussed in this thread........

I'm not a prepper myself but its always good to know what to do before any scenario like this happens & get ready.......prepare for the worst.

Red Eye, you're hoping the neighbors in the neighborhood watch "gang" have weapons to fight off the supposed crazies.

Saw that insane movie "The Purge" the other day & thought about crazy crap like that happening but not sanctioned by the govt like the movie portrays.......if you can get 20 to 30 trusted people in a group, it csan work but then you gotta deal with other problems, like food/water. All these people will not have stocked food & will need to be fed. Everyone will need to come together & figure out the food situation. Like 100's of years ago.

Saw that movie as well. Interesting movie idea but some of the acting was downright cringeworthy.

If I knew social media would be wiped out for just a week, I would almost welcome it. People have become so dependent on it, I would like to see what happens when teenage girls have to do without it for a week. Half of them may commit suicide. One thing for sure, it would give everybody a serious attitude adjustment about communication and survival..

I would like to see it as well just to see what would happen to all the younger people so dependant on social media. Their life revolves around it, its nuts!

Minus the suicides of course but if anything serious happened for several.more this to several years, there would be a high percentage of suicides because they couldn't adjust to the changes in life.

I think The Walking Dead does a good job of showing the break down of society. Subtract the zombie element and it probably will go down in a similar fashion.
