Heading home for Game 3, the Cavs were an early favorite, but it didn’t last long.
“The early money was on Golden State,” Bogdanovich said of action at William Hill’s shops in Las Vegas. “The bettors might have washed their hands of Cleveland until the Cavs prove they can play with this team.”
At MGM books, the line also moved from Cavs -1 to Warriors -1, then shifted Monday evening to a pick ‘em. But the much more significant move – and rightfully so – came with the series price.
“The price to win the series right now is basically what we call an out price,” Rood said Monday from The Mirage sportsbook. “If you’re wanting Golden State, you’re gonna have to put up quite a bit of money to win a little bit of change.”
Rood said Golden State is now -1000 to win the series
BetNow opened the Cavs as 2-point chalk in Game 3 before adjusting to a pick ‘em.
“We got some big action for the Warriors as soon as the lines opened up,” BetNow’s oddsmaker said. “If the trend continues, we think the Warriors might be 3-point favorites, anywhere from here until game time.”
And with Games 1 and 2 both falling far short of the total, William Hill books and BetNow were both seeing noticeable play on the under, with the total at 206.5.
