Barnes had a lot of momentum these past few weeks as the raptors were rising in the standing and the cavs were sinking.Has anyone in this thread been physically raped before?
I never have but having Mobley to win ROY all season at + money and he gets straight robbed seems pretty close to it
God the voters are idiots, this type of stuff shouldn’t be happening in 2022

didn’t help that the cavs had injuries down the stretch
Mobley also declined once Jarrett Allen went down.Yeah, in actual game terms he turned a clear win into a competitive game in the 4th quarter but now that the game is over and Mobley was the best defensive rookie since Tim Duncan.
Barnes best argument is he played 300 more minutes but if you’re gonna decide awards based on that type of accumulation then it’s mostly just gonna be about who was more durable.
When Zach Lowe took Barnes I thought he might get screwed, surprised he uses such reductive thinking
Barnes is greatMobley also declined once Jarrett Allen went down.
I didn’t watch a lot of raptors games this season so didn’t really follow Barnes. Just heard he had a lot of hype this past much
Why don't they give MVP to Embiid then?Barnes is a solid roleplayer on a good team, I mean he’s solid but their almost rewarding the Raps for being a better team. No shit they’re a better team, the cavs preseason win total was like 27 for a reason
Good points. The sixers only won a few games more than Denver with a much better roster
Jokic was clear mvp as he was the best regular season player also most durable
But a better argument would be if playing so many more mins is that big of a deal then Bridges should’ve won DPOY over smart
However, when betting awards you gotta factor in what narratives/consensus opinion on the players are rather than just who you think should win. Mobley/Barnes was just like a 2/1 fav that came in the other way by the slimmest of margins.
Honestly, I cannot remember many past rookies of the year and I’ll probably forget in 2 years who won this oneYeah guess Cavs fading made it close enough for Barnes to steal it. Mobley probably got to -600 at one point, he closed like -230ish so Barnes definitely had a shot but I figured once the dust is settled they give it to Mobley.
For the 10 people who will give a shit who won the 2022 Roy in 10 years, they’re gonna look back and remember Mobley’s defensive season as a rookie was 1 of the best ever. Not that Scottie Barnes helped the raptors get back into the playoffs.
Sorry for your loss.Has anyone in this thread been physically raped before?
