I don't really care who wins unless I have $ on it and get screwed or something, I think the reason it is such a hot topic now is because there is just so much content that needs to be produced now and the regular season is 5.5 months of mostly useless bball so they have to pound it. So they gotta push something.
The Nuggs team sucks, they didn't have their 2nd and 3rd best players all year and he raised their floor to a 48 win team. Mavs have way better players 2-9.
The award isn't "who is the best player", it is just who was the best/most valuable in that 5.5 months.
Doncic wouldn't have won over Embiid either. Both of them had better years than him, he also punted the first 2 months of the season by coming in out of shape. Yeah, I'd rather have him over both for a playoff series but that just isn't what the award is.
