Come on Roach, cut Fuc some slack.
I can relate, I smoke, but at least Fuc is straight up and leveling with us.
I smoke, I have tried to quit and failed.
Usually when I fail, drinking is involved.
If I quit, I gotta give it up all, :drink: :bong: :coke: and probably :bunnies:

Let me start by saying I am pulling for you to conquer whatever addiction you may have.

Nicotine is a serious drug. Smoking is way worse than nicotine. Get yourself some nicotine gum or the patch. Be smart, take advantage of technology. Making this a Me against cigs battle is the wrong approach IMO.

totally agree. the 21 mg patch takes a big edge off. half your addiction is the need to inhale something. conquer that first, then ween yourself off the patch. no need to be a hero by trying to stop cold turkey. it makes it ten times harder.

fucnluc, think you need to take baby steps. Try patches/gums to get you through the first hurdle.

Quit smoking is tough for a majority of people unless they experience or have family members who suffered cigarette related health ailments.

Nobody is trying to be a hero, I have heard from many people that Cold Turkey is the best way.

Anyways, as far as the weak comment from Mr. Roach, nobody is allowed to call me weak but myself in this thread.

I didn't have to make it, this isn't some assignment. I'm putting myself out there so people can see what it's like to stop an addiction or maybe just have an interesting read. Any more comments like that and I'm just going to stop posting in this thread and do it on my own.

As I said, I'm going to start again Cold Turkey on Monday.

I'm done after tonight. I have two cigs left, that I'll have after dinner tonight, then its cold turkey starting tomorrow (monday)

Ive been smoking at least a pack a day since I was 20, and it's time to give it up. To many things I could better spend the money on.

Thanks Beanne, good luck on your end Rude. I'll post tomorrow night before I go to sleep and update on how day one went.

Shit is difficult and a struggle. Will probably be one of the hardest things I do in life. Think of it 5 years, every day, 1 pack, and thats short compared to some people. Anyone who calls somebody out for failing is ignorant and stupid.

Let's do this.

Man, I'll give it a shot again after August.
Right now, I can't, I'm stressed over my upcoming marriage in August, my commute, etc. etc. Right now, I'd be lying through my teeth if I told you I can go cold turkey and succeed starting tommorow.

But in support of you Fuc, I'll cut back my cigarette consumption to the point where I'll light up only when I am just short from choking somebody to death from nicatine withdrawl.

Best of luck dude.
If you succeed, I'll buy you a steak dinner.
Book that

Jane says
I'm done with Sergio
He treats me like a ragdoll
She hides
The television
Says I don't owe him nothing,
But if he comes back again
Tell him to wait right here for me
Or just
Try again tomorrow
I'm gonna kick tomorrow
Gonna kick tomorrow

Jane says
Have you seen my wig around?
I feel naked without it
She knows
They all want her to go
But thats O.K.
She dont like them anyway
Jane says
She's goin away to spain
When she gets my money saved
She's gonna start tomorrow
I'm gonna kick tomorrow
Gonna kick tomorrow

She gets mad
Starts to cry
She takes a swing but
She cant hit
She don't mean no harm
She just don't know
What else to do about it

Jane goes
To the store at 8:00
She walk up on St. Andrews
She waits
And gets her dinner there
She pulls her dinner
From her pocket
Jane says
She's never been in love
No, she don't know what it is
Only knows if someone wants her
I want them if they want me
I only know they want me

She gets mad
And she starts to cry
She takes a swing man
She cant hit!
She don't mean no harm
She just dont know
What else to do about it

Jane says

Just got back home. Longest fucking day of my life. I havn't been able to concentrate on shit but smoking. I was busy most of the day, and have been chewing gum like mad so I have something to do with myself. I came close to giving up at least 25 times today, the hardest after my huge lunch and watching other people smoke outside. I'm taking a couple excederin sleeping pills so I can just pass out right now. My feelings on my own odds are probably 25% on getting through these next two days. Not feeling too good about this right now.

OH AND DRIVING. FUCK TRAFFIC.

I'm going to go pass out. Later.

Dude dont smoke during the day at all and then reward yourself with one smoke after dinner and one at night with a beverage.

14 a week is better than all that mental effort that goes into depriving yourself and the ultimate constant failure. Once you have mastered this first goal, then you can attempt to go cold turkey.

Ill agree with the others that say the patch is the way to go. Ive smoked off and on for 17 years now and every time i want to quit i just go buy a box of patches. Usaully wear for 2 weeks or so till i dont need em anymore. Currently on day 5 of no smokes this time myself, will see how long it lasts. Its easy with patches, for me at least. Best to "start" to stop when you have a couple days off work or whatnot so you can stay home.

Hardest part is when drinking or doing other stuff that goes well with cigs. So if you reaaaly want to quit id take a week off drinking too at first. Once you get the smell out of your clothes and car it gets a lot easier.

Longest ive ever quit was maybe 2 yrs, but then ill get drunk as shit one night and smoke a few, then go to just smoking when i drink , then ill wake up with half a pack and smoke etc etc and it just snowballs to pack a day again.

I seriously feel smoking cigarettes is the most moronic thing we can do to our bodies. Its not like we get a buzz off of it or anything. Just waste money and smell like shit. We stand outside in 20 below weather to smoke tar, wtf is wrong with us ? Lil nasty butts littered all over the place.

Good luck man - it can be done if you really want to, as cliche as that sounds:)

while in theory this sounds like a great idea i think the biggest downside is having a pack of smokes available to you right there whenever you want one. opens the door for tons of slipups.

Requires the same discipline and desire required if one wanted to quit. I just believe more long term sucess using positive reinforcement.

Alright, today was a complete failure. Bummed a cig from somebody mid-day, and just now bought a pack. I JUST COULDN'T CONCENTRATE. Was feeling very lethargic and mad.

Although I've always known quitting would be hard, I guess this was a reality check.

At least from this thread I heard some different ways to go about it in the near future. I appreciate the positive vibes, and let everyone who posted down.

Until next time :smoking:, I continue to kill myself.
