I was good for 2 days then some girl gave me her pack of newports claiming she's quitting. Needless to say I crushed the pack today and not in a good way

Still going strong. 1 week since my last smoke now.

Got laid last night for the first time since quitting. Noticeable improvement in performance. Not sure you need much more of a motivator than that.

Congrats man. I just saw this thread. I just hit my 30 day mark today. The first day I got drunk was officially the hardest, but everyday after was easy (by comparison)

I don't think I'd be able to do it.

If I smoked pot right now I'd end up smoking cigs. Almost guaranteed.

I smoke weed everyday. I smoked more weed at first after quiting. It helped. Not sure how you smoke but dont smoke a blunt. That will only hurt your efforts.

Weed makes me want cigarettes. Cigarettes are 100x better when high.

When I was trying to cut back, the only time I failed was when I got high and smoked like 3 in a row.

I'll phase it back in when I'm stronger, no need now. I'm not a daily weed smoker anyway.

10 or 11 days in. Have made it through 2 weekends now, and some stressful work-related stuff to boot.

Feeling like I can make it through anything without cigarettes if I so desire.

Starting to think about it less and less. Probably once or twice a day I get the urge, where I REALLY want one bad and it's all I can think about. That is usually gone within about 5 minutes and I feel great again.

Haven't gained any weight, been cutting back on the carbs and working harder at the gym to fend it off. Plus it's actually nice to go to the gym, cardio is SO much less of a chore now. I'm measurably stronger on the weights too.

Blood pressure before I quit was in the 135/85 ballpark, testing now in the 117/75 range. Triglycerides were also high, interested to see if they improve next doctor visit.

Definitely sleeping better. Food is better. Sex is better. It is easier to breathe and exercise. My car and clothes are cleaner. I'm saving more money. I'm noticeably healthier.

All in all, yeah it kinda sucked for awhile and still kinda does, but obviously 1000% worth it.

just showed this thread to a non poster.

He trashed his remaining half pack and is on board.

Good stuff.

He is one of the guys I referenced with regards to quitting multiple times.

"If that fker can do it, so can I" he said...

hahaha..

It's brutal.

Situation:

We are watching the Dodger game, having a few beers.

he is dying for a smoke so we all chimed in. He is at $168.00 if he does not smoke during the game (top of the 4th). Owes noting if he fails.

Haha that goes to show how hard it can be. I'm sure alcohol makes it 100x harder.

My congrats on this important change! I quit smoking a year ago. Still think it was my best desigions ever. Was a bit difficcult in the beginning, but it's mostly a psychological thing as you get used to hold something in your hands while chatting, thinking, just for a break. I read a book of Allen Carr, it didn't help immediately but put a seed into my head. I quit bcz I really wanted to, one day just woke up with this thought. Have been smoking for 12 years. Good luck!
