And let's not forget hundreds of thousands more who were searched illegally and not arrested. That's a GREAT use of taxpayer dollars and police manpower.
I saw one such incident while visiting the South Bronx a few years ago during my first trip to NYC.
Five guys standing together near a city park and an NYPD prowl car rolls up and the officers put them all against the fence for a thorough "stop and frisk" with an additional emptying of pockets and removal of shoes.
No one was arrested and the cops left about 20 minutes later, presumably on the way to smoke out some more evildoers.
