I may have missed it, but isn't it possible they have their software set up to reject all of a customers wagers placed in the last 5 minutes before tipoff? Or just reject any of his NBA plays? In other words, I doubt this was some person sitting there intercepting bets live and rejecting/deleting them within a split second of the submittal - it is much more plausable that they had red flagged the account for some automatic reject/delete process based on some criteria.

As to the principle, I don't really see a case here as they didn't confirm so there was no agreement on a bet. I don't think they should treat customers that way, but I don't believe you have a case, IMO. They seem to be not-so-subtlely telling you to piss off, it would appear. They should tell you you aren't welcome anymore or that you can't make bets close to post or whatever they are restricting you from but unless they confirm there was no bet, IMO.

Lowering stated limits or not honoring posted lines is false advertising and sleazy, IMO, for that books should be exposed!

this is all second hand but i have a friend who posts on another site that has had simular results with canbet. they cut his limits to win 90. he cant wager 110 to win 100. he was told that he was wagering to close to gametime and that he was chasing line moves. they also said his limits would go back up after NBA was over but as of this evening they are still the same. he says he cant make any wager at any number that will win him more than 90.00.
they told him that the law will not allow closing of accounts unless fraud is involved so the only thing they can do is cut limits.
i will also say that i have never known this guy to wager more than 5 bills on a game so he isnt a high roller by any means.
it seems they look for a particular pattern of a player and if you match more than a couple of the things they look for they cut you. it does not appear to have anything to do with how much you wager or if your ahead of them or not. its whether you fit their pattern.

The whole thing is ridiculous, bottom line is books are businesses and in most places they have the right to do business with whoever they choose. Whether you win or lose, bet early or late, bet big or small...they can and should have the right to block your bets or kick you out if they want. Why is there a discussion about this anyways, seems like sour grapes to me.

What I would love to hear is some guy say "thank God for XXX book, I was about to bet 10 games today but they cut me off and what do you know the games went 1-9". Now that would be original! But notice how these stories are always by people that "would" have won so its sour grapes time as if this was the only book you could possibly get action down at. Everyone should have MANY accounts and they should never be at such a loss if one cuts them off, they should just quietly take out their money and take their business to where its welcome. Isn't this common sense???

i for one find this a very interesting read.
yes he could have played else where and probably could just give up. but a lesson everyone must learn is never fvck with a person with disposable income, and free time. which brings me to a funny story.

a local businessman(probably worth 20mill +) bought a cadallic and it broke several times when he first got it. the dealership would not take it back as a lemon b/c it did not break enough to be considered a lemon. any way it was a piece of shit. the guy took out full page newspaper ads calling out the dealer and when this failed. he put the car on a ramp in front of some property he owned on a highway with a sign on the side saying, this is a lemon i bought from ....co.. His property is about 5 miles from the dealership. he even tried to get evil caneval's son to jump the car as it blew up and televise it locally.

know this has nothing to do with canbet but sometimes people feel they are screwed and want people to know about it.

dogs, I think you are wasting your time and money. Like it or not - and I don't, I've been booted from over 10 books - they can choose whether to accept bets from specific customers as they please.

In my case, Canbet have been excellent. When I first signed up they had a software glitch which made it look as if my bets were in one currency, not the one the bets were actually in.

When I pointed this out they corrected their software and refunded me several hundred dollars, being the extra losses I'd incurred by betting too much due to the currency problem.

How many other books do you think would have acted like this - not many I suspect. Canbet is always one of my first choices in every sport ever since and I have no regrets about that.

If I was in Dogs' position, I would seek to identify exactly what they had a problem with, then modify my behaviour. So if it was betting in the last 5 minutes before game time I would stop doing this. Once you are on the close monitoring list it is a tough job getting off it.

In some cases my only answer has been to use friends and relatives cards and names to place bets, this may be the only answer for you Dogs from where you are now.

Big John

I can't say that all these books on the <preffered list> are bad books, because that's not true.

Bad experiences in the past. Once I was saved by the bell, and once I was not.

I do not blame Rx for my loss 100%, but I do believe that it could have been avoided if some people were more honest. Enough said.
